That’s what happens when you trade away 4th round picks for practice fodder.

To beat a dead horse even further, they got Dak Prescott in the fourth round. Not only can you find starter in the fourth round, you can find future all pros. Why the fuck waste a fourth round pick on an average WR, or a QB who proved to an other NFL team that he wasn’t worthy of being a legit QB on the nfl. So stupid.

Not drafted by Dallas, but 5th round pick who ended up enshrined in Canton.

And with a year or two of his rookie contract  already burned.

I wanted blue. But much better if they pick another bigger bruiser with him.

could still add a guy like Martinez/Brooks or the kid from Rutgers or even Ollie Gordon.

Smith from SMU was the only other big play threat left

Cowboys up...

Jayden Blue? OK, but seems like a fair reach. Bond would have been a better value pick, good upside. Not crazy about the pick, but Blue does have some potential if they can catch lightning in a bottle.

They still need to draft another running back and have some competition.

Next pick about 24 spots ahead if they don't make a move. See y'all after lunch...maybe.

Bond is completely off draft boards.  This is far from a reach. A middle 5th round for blue?  Some had him as a 3/4.

Cowboys might be moving up for another guy…hmm.

Gordon or Taj Brooks as a late round flyer sound pretty good.

Exactly. Gordon would have been a top 3 round pick last year.

I like both of them a lot.

Cowboys must have a veteran receiver lined up, either FA or trade. Or they just give zero fucks for WR.

3 things can happen when you pass, 2 of them are bad...

So Dallas apparently gave a 5 and a 6 to move up in the 5th. I don't like the value there. I don't see any 2025 later picks swapped back in return.

Really wasted a lot of potential in this draft all the way around, minimizing return for a team picking 12th in the order.

There are good players here, but they totally fail to address needs and maximize their draft potential. Anything beyond this point in the draft is a crapshoot.

Agreed.

If Dallas gets Allen or Martinez here at 204 and then another IDL in the 7th who can maybe soak up blockers in a year or two, then it's been a highly productive draft.  Are there still holes on the team?  Sure, but there was always going to be because the Cowboys lack depth and have for years.  But all of the picks (maybe outside of the 1st) made sense, were value plays, and look like good players with great attitudes.

Finish it off and Jerrah will declare they won the offseson.....

Yeah I’d they stumble their way into Martinez this late they’ll have done a good job at the draft.

hut yes they got holes glaringly at WR which I’m hoping they have a move there lined up.

I'd also be up to take Bond as a dart throw in the 7th,.  If he gets over his legal issues, then you have a speed threat in the vein of a poor man's Cooks, with maybe some more PR potential.  Fuck it, at this stage, draft Ewers in the 7th too..... He has backup potential.  Fuck it.  Put him on the PS.

Got a big nose tackle. Seems line people are high on him.

They’ve nailed these picks as far as guys who might actually help.

but their biggest need wasn’t addressed.

Okay, there's the IDL, run stopper I was talking about.  Now, let's take a stab at one more weapon.  Bond or a RB?

Not bad for a 7th rounder.  We need another TE with Stephens blowing out his ACL again.

Martinez and the Rutgers RB still here.

If you had told me you got Martinez and blue in the 5th I’d have been ecstatic

I'd take Jake Majors actually...... He's the type of dude who is 3 years could be a starter at Center.  I know we get Beebe, but shit changes.  But Bond or the Cuse kid is legit.  He can really catch the ball.

TE from Iowa, Lachey, can play too..... He'd be a good pick with the last 2.

Mafah and Blue could be a heck of a tandem if they reach potential.

He and Williams are the same sort of guy, but Mafah doesn't have the knee injuries.  Ultimately, the Cowboys RB room is even more unknown than last year.  Blue is COP back and has ball security issues.  Good thing is a good coaching staff can correct his fumbling problems and he has juice but he's too small to take more than 10-12 touches a game on average.  Mafah and Williams are bruisers but lack burst and wiggle.  We still don't have a lead back, it's a room of RB2's, which hit was last year but at least Dowdle had the size and burst of a lead guy.  idk, I don't hate it, but I would have taken something in round 6, but RB is a place you can find a UDFA or guy off the garbage pile and to really help..... at least a good front office can.

Need a WR weapon or someone in that room will really need to improve.

Agree in WR.  They have to make a move.

But I feel the tandem or RBBC was what they’re planning on, unless you find a Saquan type player.

They, uh…really attacked the lines this draft. 5 picks for the trenches.

2 DTs.  This last guy was just a. Priority FA they didn’t want to have to mess with.

Big Jay Toia May surprise you.  He drew double and triple teams every game last year.  He’s a beast.

Is it weird I feel the RB room is better tho? Like I like the upside potential of the young guys. I like that Zeke isn’t there.

definitley need WR

Oh don’t have to convince me. Beeen asking for a guy like that.

Players were fine. It was just pissing away extra picks that they badly needed to fill more depth in this class. It didn't have to be that way. They should have been able to get a couple of extra picks, not fewer, and gotten the same guys.

The Cowboys weren't going to draft a qb. I just don't see it. Milton is their development guy. There's no way he's a legit backup. Maybe they think Grier can be it. More likely they will have to address that in the coming weeks and sign a veteran, at least to compete for the backup job.
