It’s not that uncommon of a story aside from the Ivy League education, he’s just latched on to rich people and willing to do their bidding. He’ll never be fully accepted because of his background.

He's Cousin Greg.

He just seems like a guy who grew up poor, was just smart enough to work his way out of that, got himself a fancy education on the government’s dime, and then parlayed that into a chance at wealth by sucking up to rich people. It’s not that uncommon of a story aside from the Ivy League education, he’s just latched on to rich people and willing to do their bidding. He’ll never be fully accepted because of his background. That’s what they never get, the only people who will give him the attention he craves are others of his type trying to climb that same ladder.

This.  I just presumed when he ran for Senate and they said he was a "venture capitalist" that he must have been a partner at one of the name SV funds or something.  He was a super junior guy at Mithril Capital (Thiel) which has had lots of issues, then Revolution (Steve Case).  He is probably a reasonably good salesman in the VC conference rooms to convince them to hire him, then seed his crappy Cincinatti VC.  But TL/DR, he is a former venture capitalist in the same way a junior associate that leaves Wachtell or JP Morgan after a couple of years was a big time M&A lawyer or investment banker.

I also think he is ultimately an escaped incel.  So good for him, I guess, that he found his way out.  But he strikes me as a guy who was a couple of bad decisions/strokes of bad luck from being a 4chan troll and digital currency "expert" working from a 1 BD apt in northern Kentucky.

somebody on Reddit said "if you tell a police sketch artist that the guy that mugged you looked like somebody that would fuck a rubber glove between two couch cushions" he'd draw somebody that looked exactly like JD Vance.

NYT article today:

Barbara Kampa, a two-time Trump voter from Greendale, Wis., said she was shocked when she first heard Mr. Vance on the campaign trial.

“I was like, oh, holy crap. I don’t know how to say it nicely, but holy crap,” said Ms. Kampa, 64, who is retired and plans to vote again for Mr. Trump. “He needs to be sat down and told, ‘Well, this is how we approach things for us to get people to vote for us.’ You can’t go out there like it’s the Wild West and start shooting. That turns people off.”

I honestly feel this weirdo was an even worse pick than Caribou Barbie.  I never thought it would be possible.

It is. McCain was already going to lose and Palin was basically a Hail Mary that turned into a pick six.

Such a fucking weirdo.  A pencil pushing bottom barrel correspondent flexing his “battlefield” experience against a 24yr enlisted sergeant.

God dammit, it works, because you said nothing when they came for John Kerry!

Yes, even more of a fuckup weirdo considering his daddy was a well documented draft dodger.  3 months isn't that long - can easily keep up this momentum with dipshit providing more and more fuel... LFG

Coming up on almost a month since the original Couch tweet. Fucking hilarious to me after all the outright bullshit lies they have spread for years that they are so bent out of shape over it. Check this guys article out:https://www.newsweek.com/democrats-mean-girl-bullying-jd-vance-reveals-utter-disdain-truth-opinion-1936999

Quote

This is a whole new playbook: Tell a lie, admit that your "evidence" was fabricated, then keep spreading it anyway.

Have Republicans spread their fair share of outlandish claims, from internet trolls to the Oval Office? Sure. Liberals will happily provide you with a list: Q-Anon, Pizzagate, birtherism, Ted Cruz's dad shooting JFK, "Big Mike," the stolen 2020 election, Democrats supporting post-birth abortion (although that one's true). But Republicans who say these things believe them—and they're not anywhere near as easily falsifiable as the couch story.

That doesn't make what the Democrats are doing better—it makes it worse.

I love these melts. Go fuck yourself, Grayson.

WTF is a "post-birth abortion" and in what world do Democrats support the execution of a baby?

This one drives me nuts. The GQP stooges repeat this shit over and over and over again and the media never fact checks them or asks a clarifying question. It’s so damn ridiculous and they just let these morons repeat it over and over so that their dumbass followers believe that democrats want the murder of newborns to be legal. It’s absolutely ridiculous and half the country believes this shit.

I'm all for one particular post-birth abortion.  Really, really post.  Like 78 years post.

I saw an editorial where the author said Vance is the one pushing his “combat correspondent” title hard as if he was writing stories out in the battlefield when he was really a public affairs specialist who sat in the AC all day for six months writing puff pieces to make the war look better.

I mean, this person saw more war action than JD Vance did

Carole Radziwill (@CaroleRadziwill) / X

(Carole Radziwill, who reported from Iraq during the Gulf War and was embedded in Khandahar during the Afghanistan War)

All of this. I said it in another thread, but it's the most dangerous lie (of many) that the GOP has going at the moment. If you can convince your constituents that Democrats are killing babies, absolutely anything can be justified to stop them.
