The Jerry Jones Loses his Mind Thread

OMFG!!!  Has something really happened to him?  Officially, no.  But Jerrah, once was a huge power broker in the league and probably the most powerful owner for the better part of 2.5 decades.  It's served him well as despite leading his franchise into prolonged mediocrity on the field, he's led them to unseen value off the field (most valuable sports franchise).   However, as things tend to, what goes around will come around and as Jerrah sinks into his 70's, his influence in the league and with his current owners is waning and in full decline and he's been marginalized as he lashed out publicly against the NFL's idiot commissioner and other owners in the Ezekial Elliott case.

In other words, he's going full Al Davis syndrome, another legendary owner who at one point was a progressive force, but as father time took his facilities, Al sank into a sad sack, pathetic version of himself.  IMO, this is now happening to Jerrah.  Al had his track suits and oversized sunglasses to try and hide his descent into old age, Jerrah has his plastic surgery and botox.

Here is a thread to laud, laugh, and shake your head at NFL HOF Jerrah Jones as he now gets taken by Father Time and trips over his balls.

The latest Jerryism happened several days ago..... The NFL can't seem to get out of it's own way on this National Anthem thing.  However you feel, the fact that this has become such a public relations debacle has to amuse or confuse the hell out of most.  A group of rich, successful billionaires can't seem to figure anything out on this subject and continues to throw gasoline on the fire when all they want is for it to go away..... Currently, the NFL is working with the NFLPA to try and come up with a solution to this issue after past efforts to nix it have proved unsuccessful.  As the owners in the circle of trust work with the NFLPA on this, most owners understand to let the process and negotiations work out and then they would hopefully come to a unified position on this delicate matter........  Enter Jerrah last week..... as he bombastically declared if players wanted to be Cowboys, they would stand for the anthem.  Smh.  Dude just can't shut the fuck up because as everything in his life, it's all about him.

He's pissed off his other owners and they continue to be frustrated with his windbag tendencies..... They'd like him muzzled.

This is the only kneeling Jerrah supports.

Now, this has been a turbulent 18 months for Jones as he's run afoul of his other owners on a number of other issues including the Zeke incident, Papa Johns being fired as official endorser of the league, anthems, etc.  But all is okay!!!!  Jerrah ain't old... just ask him.  He's in his prime.

Body of a 40 year old..... 40 year old what exactly is not known.

Ha, ha, ha.  This should be a hilarious time to follow Jerry as he sinks farther into his own senility....

This is the chickens coming home to roost after years of the NFL weirdly wrapping itself in the flag.  The Super Bowl pregame stuff has looked progressively more like a national rally instead of a sporting event since just after 9/11.  During the Rams-Pats Super Bowl with a station still in shock and mourning, it made sense.

But like with anything else, the NFL saw patriotism as nothing more than another kickass marketing opportunity, turns up the levels, and yet again threw good taste out the window.

I still will never understand what is the point of buying NFL team gear in army camouflage?  Take that $50 and give it directly to a veterans org.

Agreed, right or wrong, the NFL put money in front of our patriotism...

Jerry Jones-  business man extraordinaire. Helps even the weakest of owners learn how to make money.  Hard not to admire what he’s done with regard to commerce and growing his associated brands.

Jerrah- super asshole, egomaniac, pervert, and psychotic tone-deaf mofo. Hard to find one ounce of fucks to give to this shithead.

I can't stand him.  His business accomplishments do not benefit me in any way, so I couldn't possibly care less how much money the Cowboys are worth or how much money he has helped make for the NFL.  I want the Cowboys to win Super Bowls again and I don't think that happens with JJ being the GM.  Would he have kept any other GM around this long with the same won-loss record?  Absolutely not.

isn't Stephen the defacto GM.  If Jerrah was in charge, Johnny Hatecrime would have been a Cowboy.

Then again, the Ginger still exists, so you may be right...

I wish Jerry the Owner would fire Jerry the GM....

This is the football dichotomy.  Defenders of Jerry will always consider him a great owner.  Brought in Jimmy, revolutionized the monetization methods of the NFL, instrumental in rule changes and media rights.  There is an argument he's one of the more influential persons in how we watch and consume modern professional football of the last 2 decades.  But when you focus it down to his role as owner of the Cowboys -- a great owner, hell a shitty owner, would never, ever let such a failure as Jerry the GM continue for this long...... It makes him a force as an NFL owner, yet a failure as the Dallas Cowboy owner for the last 25 years.  You can't let such a definitive failure of a GM exist and he just can't stomach firing himself because everything is about him..... one of the true characters in NFL history.

The way he ran Jimmy off has always trumped "hiring" Jimmy  for this fan.  He cost the Cowboys at least 2 SBs, IMHO.

Jerry likes him some Jerrah; which is his prerogative, but don't fuck the team over...

Criticize Jerrah all you want but no one has ever done a better job of successfully marketing and monetizing mediocrity.   Those championships and playoff appearances are now somewhere in a different stratosphere but that cash register just doesn't slow down.

You could have said the exact same thing the second he fired Jimmy Johnson. Nothing has changed.

Until I get my dividend check I couldn’t possibly care less. I want the team to compete for Super Bowls.

The NFL needs to go back to the old policy of forcing the players to stay in the locker room during the anthem. Fake patriotism is the worst. NFL doesn't give a shit about the flag, military or vets. They make the military pay for all this coverage and shit done on the cameras. Same as the breast cancer month. They make them pay for that coverage. Sucks the life out of this league.

I agree, but the "cat's out of the bag" at this point. Given the timing, athletes will probably interpret such a move as a way to squash their expression. Maybe it's still worth it in spite of the short-term backlash.

Yeah you are probably right. At this point, the players like to be able to showcase their voice via taking a knee in protest. But damn, this shit will never go away. There is nothing at all that can be said that hasn't already., No one is changing anyone's mind. You have a faction of players who don't want other to kneel and it creates separation of teammates. It's a fucking circus. And Dallas with Jerry always seem to be at the front of this.

NFL has done nothing but botch every controversial issue and policy proposal. They can't even decide what they decided half the time. They're a bunch of two-faced cowards. They don't have a lot of room to point fingers.

Funny thing is, Stephen seems to be pretty level headed, (or maybe that's just in comparison to dear old dad) but as long as Jerrah is still breathing anyone with the Cowboys GM tag will be nothing more than a figurehead.

He fired Cowboys legend Tom Landry to hire a renegade college coach from The U. Despite all the shit he got for the move, it paid off pretty damn well.

He traded away a fan favorite RB for a ton of MN draft picks. That worked out pretty well too.

He stated that anyone could coach and win with the talent Dallas had amassed. Jimmy took that as disrespect and left to go fail in Miami. Barry Switzer, son of Satan and confirmed asswipe, made it to the NFC Championship and won the Super Bowl in the proceeding 2 years proving Jerry’s assessment to be accurate.

It’s popular to hate on the guy, and a lot of it is warranted for the last 2 decades, but you have a romanticized take on revisionist history there.

Jerry Jones doesn't know shit from shinola when it comes to personnel.    yes he fired Tom.  That's SOP for hostile takeovers, not necessarily courageous leadership.

Jimmy made the Herschel Walker move.  Jimmy amassed the depth and  SPEED that other teams did not.

Jerry put up the capital.  No doubt.  he certainly was invested in the team, but he lusted after the credit too.

He wanted the recognition for the innovation and dominance on the field.  To this day, I figure he knows he outright tried to steal it from Jimmy.

And yeah, of course, after Jimmy built the team, anyone could have coached them to a win.  Jimmy would have done more.

Id love for Dak and Zeke to take a knee in the first game just to see that old fool stroke out once and for all.

I can go either way on Dale Hansen but hes right about this.

The media would likely force Jerrah into a position where Dak & Zeke would be sidelined, as he has placed himself in a corner more than the other owners...

Zero chance of that happening. Dak already Uncle Tom'd his ass out and kneeled down to the "masta" after Jerry ran his mouth off like a retard again to the media about something that should be avoided by any NFL personnel.

"That's right masta, we good boys not gonna kneel down. No sir,  we gonna stand like good boys".

Despicable
