As someone who drives on 35 all the time and passes Tidehaven HS during that trip, where in the hell do the students come from?  There is nothing out there except farms.  I know Tidehaven is a small school but still.  There is a whole lot of nothing out that way.

Well, it's like this.  Somehow, students are gathered in from Blessing, Markham, Clemville, Midfield, Buckeye, El Maton, and Francitas.   All of that to make a 2A school back in the day.  They've moved up now to 3A.

Fun Fact: Everyone's favorite dramatic former Harris Co DA. tv series "Cold Justice" star, and UT-ex Kelly Siegler graduated from THS.  I may or may not have some of her secrets.

I have live in Texas for all of my 50 years and today I learned there is something called "Clemville".  Same applies to Midfield. I always assumed kids in Markham attended Bay City schools.

I have driven through Francitas when I mix things up and take 616 but never thought about where those kids would go to school.

This past football season as Tidehaven was making its run I saw them referred to as "El Maton Tidehaven".  I had never seen or heard them referenced that way.

Clemville, Buckeye, and Markham all attend Markham Elem.  Blessing and the rest attend Blessing Elem.  Students don't see their other classmates until the 6th grade when they are bused to the Intermediate grades (6-8th) which is off FM 459.  I guess it may be different these days.  After which, they will go to the high school to finish out.  BTW, Clemville at one time was a big carrot producing area.  Matagorda County as far as schools go have/or used to have Bay City combines with Matagorda, Van Vleck stands alone as does Palacios.  Tidehaven is all the rest.

My first fall away from Texas so I'm gonna be following on Friday nights through the NFHS app.

China Spring seems like a fun follow. Uniforms are sweet. District is stacked. Should be an interesting year

As a former TXHSFB official I still have access the “HUDL” app. I really don’t know if anyone can have access to it freely or if it’s a paid app. As an official, that HUDL app was how we could look up our next game opponents and kind of do a scouting report prior to the next weeks game that we were assigned.

There’s usually no audio, except maybe crowd noise, but most plays give you the sideline (50) angle, then a view from the EZ. Actually watching a game from the EZ view is the best, IMO, as you can see the scheme that is trying to be utilized post snap, along with blocking schemes. As an “Umpire”, which is right there with/behind the LBs (8-10) off the ball was my best view for game action.

Games on HUDL aren’t live, as it takes a day or so for each coaching staff to post their, usually home team’s video recording.

It’s like old school watching the tape, but offers so much more.

We are switching teams this year.  Moved from Katy, supported my kids team, Seven Lakes, to Kerens, TX.  Get to go from 6a to 2a football this year.  Going to be interesting.

Fuck Kerens right in the ass. Make me sleep down from 70 to 35 mph when I’m driving on TX31 past your shitty gas station, dollar general, and food rite. Build a bypass like everyone else is on 31 and maybe I’ll switch my distain over to Powell.
