Texas has been struggling all night attempting to force feed it to Oldacre/Jones.

Yup, they’ve got to adjust here. You cannot keep force feeding the big when triple teamed

win or lose..making that shot will go along way for harmon and the horns this season

confidence builder hopefully

admit I have watched only one other game this year but maybe she is overthinking it.  just play...like that last play.

The only time we looked good was early, when Carlton was out there. No idea why she got sentenced to the pine, but maybe we could have used a boost from another scorer and rebounder. Just saying.

We really need a point guard that can score, like Aaliyah Chavez. We aren't winning championships with Dogus Balbay running the 1

Hidalgo showed us why its important to have a scoring point guard.

I wouldn't go that far. She's coming off a serious injury.

Harmon is definitely limited but she's a much better scorer than she showed tonight.

She has never been a scoring guard (although I'm sure a few examples to the contrary could be cherry picked), but you're right that she's still coming back from an injury and could still have an upward trajectory when it comes to getting her shot confidence back. Harmon was also not seeing the floor well tonight and made some really bad passes, but to be fair she wasn't the only Longhorn who turned the ball over tonight (23 turnovers in total). The rest of our schedule this year is soft until conference play January 2nd so we won't start to know what we have with her until then, but Vic may need to let Booker run the point some like we needed to last year out of necessity.

Texas scored the first 2 points in OT and then Notre Dame went on a 12-0 run to win

Booker missing the transition pull-up after Oldacre's block, and then fouling on the rebound, was a deflating turn in OT. I'm sure Booker was gassed, but Vic had no choice but to keep her on the floor.

Harmon can't shoot from 3 but she's always been able to get to the mid-range and score.

Tonight she wasn't able to. That's B2B games where Harmon has looked a step slow (against All-American caliber guards). I would guess she's nowhere close to where she was pre-injury.

Nope. Harmon has averaged 11.5 over her career. Hidalgo 23

Rori is a facilitator. The contrast was striking though.

Moore and Harmon both 2 for 9. Phelia 1 for 5, Book 7 for 21

We shot 37%, 33% from 3 - as @perfectchaos007 pointed out.

ND 44% from the floor, 47% from 3

Not going to win many games under water like that.

I would say Vic's only weakness, at times, is he wants to ugly up the game when there's no need for it.

That's B2B games against top 15 teams where we weren't very good offensively but our physicality/size almost won both. You don't always have to turn games into a slugfest where it body blow after body blow inside. Let your guards have a little more freedom to score.

I’m on the Carlton, Preston, Oldacre bus.

I know Vic is a great coach but man he can be stubborn at times and I feel that came to bite him tonight.

Tries to stick with the old guard too much.

Carlton needs most of Moore minutes. Preston and Oldacre need significant PT every game.

Against a team like ND it's difficult to go big with either Carlton or Moore at the 4. ND is so small and good at guard you need somebody athletic at the 4.

Which is why Vic started Jak in the 2nd half. Gave up 39 in the first half and 29 in the 2nd half. We just needed to go smaller sooner to deal with their guards spacing the court and driving.

I think Jak is somebody that needs to play more against certain teams. Carlton and Moore are not the most athletic 4s.

Scratching my head that Preston only played 37 seconds. She is so quick. You think she could've been helpful defensively at least.

I'm surprised Jones is still the starter. Oldecre is playing much better; the same with Carlton and Moore. I know Amo is a vocal leader, but she is limited physically.

I am not sure we will encounter another team with 2 extremely elite guards like Olivia Miles and Hannah Hidalgo.  If they stay healthy, they will go far in the ACC and NCAAT.

They are truly fucking ridiculously good at everything.

The field looks wide open this year if Vic can figure a few things out.

UCLA, Texas, SoCar, ND, UConn, LSU, USC, TCU
