The question is does a blowout loss drop us or 2 or 3?

Honestly to answer your question

I don’t see how you seed us above SC, so maybe down to 3

I've never been as certain a 3 would fall as I was right there. We'd have trouble making one in an empty gym.

Lol I said the same thing. You knew once you seen her go into form

When you have numbers in transition and then your 5-3 PG still gets stymied under the basket, there's not much good to say. Meanwhile, 50-50 balls are about 90-10. We're getting crushed by a deeper, better team.

lol they don’t even guard Rori  outside

I’m going to get shit for this, but as a good as Rori is on defense and how much we love her overall, her lack of a three-point threat limits the upside of this team. As another said, we’re UH (except on the women’s side) until this roster becomes more well rounded offensively. Now, that still makes for a really good team, but if we want to win a title, it’ll have to change.

So, hiw did we win in Austin?

We all know post-season success is largely about getting hot/peaking at the right time.  Hopefully this is our stretch of letdown games, we get it out of our system and start trending upward when it really matters.

Stop acting like momentum Isnt a real thing.  We see it all the time in sports,  it saying Texas isn’t good but again it’s levels to this and we aren’t there yet

when that shit is going in you are done.   getting worked.  we have a major hole that is gonna be a problem.

too funny they call that foul now with a minute left.

We were not good today…SC had a lot to do with that….but, home team will win 2/3rds of the games played…time to rest up and regroup….need to win our next two at home….we’d be lucky to be the #2 #1 seed…..find out later.

We gonna need more than just her.

really hope we get an athletic big in the portal as well as another shooter, idk if Phelia is coming back.

we just need a fusion of athleticism and shooting honestly

We weren't exhausted, for one. Everyone played better.

Exhaustion?  Not unless 2 hours more rest for SC yesterday really contributed.

However, if exhaustion is the factor, then perhaps the coach shouldn’t run key players into the ground, especially in games with a sizable lead.

Except for Jones, our starters all had to play huge minutes against Old Miss and LSU the past two days. Not much left in the tank today, as was apparent from the start. Very different from the situation when we played SCar in Austin.

Yep. These tournaments don’t tell you much, except which team is deeper and/or better at blowouts to play 3 games in 3 days

The JuJus have UCLA’s number.

Maybe Lauren Betts is tired of this shit coaching and wants to leave UCLA. How is your 6’7 NPOY finalist not featured much? Close shits the bed in these games

That was the case just a bit ago. Close is not a great coach, but she makes USC’s coach look like a world beater

Well it was also the fact that we had a wrestling match against LSU and were getting hacked nonstop for 40 minutes. That'll drain your players for sure

Yeah, Close remembered she had Betts and USC went ice cold for the first 8 min of the 4th Q

UCLA wins the B1G tournament. I have no idea what the pecking order of the 1 seeds is now. I guess we will see what Charlie thinks

I'm not sure any serious Texas fan expects a national title this season. Hopefully it happens once another solid wave of talent is added. With our clear offensive woes, this season we'll do well to make the Final Four. In short, for now we're almost the UH men's program, getting by more on coaching and defensive grit than anything else.

That’s a great comparison!!

UofH always had good teams that played tough and with grit but lacked athleticism like the championship teams.

unlike UofH though I think it’ll be easier for Vic to get talent at Texas and even though he’s old I think /hope he will adjust to his players and not handcuff them. He could become a Mack Brown really quick,  goof coach but can’t win the big one due to his stubbornness (until VY came along)

Think that pushes South Carolina back into the overall #1?

USC won 2/3 vs UCLA, so ... USC 2, Texas 3, UCLA 4?
