When was Rori’s deadline to declare for the WNBA draft?

Last night? 48 hours after season ends if after March 31

Campbell was a great HS recruiter, arguably the lead in getting Sabrina to Oregon, as well as those other top recruits in Sabally, Hebard, etc.

But it looks like he's just going to focus on portal recruiting now

Man, TCU is loading up....

They appear to be going all in on women’s sports - volleyball, beach, WBB, soccer. Given up on baseball, MBB and football I guess

Latson to South Carolina - not a big surprise, she played with a lot of the kids on the roster and they were recruiting her as soon as she went into the portal

Will be interesting to see if Dawn's philosophy changes at all with a big scorer, because she tends to handcuffs a lot of guards.

They're doing just fine in baseball. 25-8, 8-4, RPI 20.

All the assistants are following former 5 star freshman F Kendall Dudley from UCLA. #14 recruit

UCLA’s entire freshman class has bounced, since basically everyone is returning.

Vic went out and got a shooter last year. But she had to redshirt. He didn’t plan on relying on an inconsistent Holle and a freshman to be the bulk of our 3 point shooting.

Texas is one of 4 schools for Serah Williams (South Carolina, USC, LSU, Texas)

Texas is one of 3 schools for Breya Cunningham (Texas, Baylor, USC)

South Carolina is the front runner for Okot

South Carolina is in the hunt or favored for 2 of these players with a bench full of McDonald's All-Americans. You have to think some of those kids will transfer out. Dawn seems similar to Mulkey in that she's not too interested in developing her talent.

I agree. Dawn is a great coach but getting Larson and Okot and maybe Williams is going to force out players. She’s just recruiting over players and stashing high school AAs on the bench so others can’t have them

Also Texas pursuing multiple PFs makes me think Moore is undecided on her future - less whether she should come back or not, but whether she needs to hang it up before she blows out both knees

I also don’t get the love for Baylor by Cunningham. Who on earth would want to live in Waco? And their program isn’t where it used to be. Just sayin’.

I always assumed the allure was Nicki plays a pro offense and knows how it prepare you for the W. One thing Vic is criticized for is his system doesn’t really translate to the W

Money is also a big inducement these days. Baylor may see TCU up the road dumping cash and be trying to compete.

College players are avoiding the W it seems to stay in college.  Somehow, their NIL value must go down to actual market value once they leave school?

Top 10 picks in WNBA will only make like 70 something k, could probably make quite a bit more in NIL in college.

They can make NIL after college too. I’m saying that college NIL might be over market, or the market is much better, due to market dynamics.

Collective NIL > $80k especially at top end.

So their base pay in college is higher while still earning other NIL opportunity.

For example a player of Aalyiah Chavez caliber NIL is about 1 million at Oklahoma, that doesn't include her other NIL deals she'll get.

What is it that you think you are explaining to me?

What is that confuses you about why they would stay in college vs going pro? It's self explanatory yet here you are.

I’d assume Vic + co know how to use her. Seems more like a SG to me

Vanderbilt's Iyana Moore in the portal

Is the interest in another guard by Texas  because they fear Phelia’s eye may not be back to normal?

Could be? I hope that’s not the case

8 years is a long time

I've had my quibbles with his S&C program, considering the myriad of injuries we have gone through, but he was good enough for Vic to be kept on after Aston was fired.

does anyone get the feeling the agents for these transfers are saying "you need to list Texas".   seems like it might have been the same with Chavez.  you list Texas but claim it was the offense that pushed you to sooner?  The offense was known for years before recruiting even started.

and before anyone says it I realize we are a top 5 team but...

No, we usually pick up 1 or 2 players every offseason with Vic, except I think, prior to the 2023 season.  We also have quite a few who visited but chose somewhere else

Texas is active in the portal

Chavez was legit - she didn't make her way to Austin after her state championship just for shits and giggles. We can go around and around about the offense, but OU dumped $1.5 million in her lap, Tre Young ran point (no pun intended) on that recruitment and Texas has not only a star already in Booker, but our guard depth was not on our side.  Texas returns PG/SGs in Harmon, Preston, Lee, Phelia + Booker and Crump at SF.

I also think players have a lot of interest in Texas, due to the brand, Austin, NIL opportunities, but you know, not everyone wants to be coached hard. You don't get a lot of players like Oldacre who came on a visit and said "work me out"
