No, we usually pick up 1 or 2 players every offseason with Vic, except I think, prior to the 2023 season.  We also have quite a few who visited but chose somewhere else

Texas is active in the portal

Chavez was legit - she didn't make her way to Austin after her state championship just for shits and giggles.

Fair enough, but listing Texas is a good bargaining chip

With 3 consecutive years of injury bugs, a new change there was needed.

Go make Molly Binetti (South Carolina) say no.  South Carolina just looked bigger and faster and better conditioned than us.

SC Gov website says she makes $140,000 a year.

Open The Books says Zillner was $154k in 2023.

Not to mention SC's personal income tax, which ranges up to 6.2%. If she's ever going to move, the school at the western edge of the SEC checks a whole lot of boxes.

OTF - Texas has a visitor on campus who is an impact player that can score the ball. Texas feels really good about this visitor

Also multiple visitors expected next week

Rumor he could be headed to Miami under Jai Lucas

Some overlap during Lucas’ time as an AC at Texas under Shaka

Oldacre and Lovisa Asbrink Hose are following each other, so she either has visited, is visiting or they are connecting prior to her visit

Fulwiley from South Carolina in the portal

That I do not know

Serah Williams (Wisconsin) is down to, according to sources, USC, LSU or UConn.  I didn't think we were going to get her

Dawn didn’t start her best players this past year, there was a lot of seniority shenanigans going on imo. Fulwiley and Edwards were their two scariest players and they both came off the bench. I guess Fulwiley got tired of that.

SC also got the girl from FSU

MF also got benched immediately for making a mistake in the NC game.  She was handcuffed offensively and was not going to get the minutes she wanted with Raven Johnson and Latson coming in.

We didn’t get her out of HS, but we got her now

Looking forward to next season already. Cunningham and Oldacre are legit. Vic is the man. To hell with the naysayers.

Get a PF (and another guard?) and we are in business.

Harmon/Preston

Lee/Phelia

Booker/Crump

Carlton/Jak/??

Oldacre/Cunningham

Yes, another PF would be ideal. I like our chances with those in the portal. The biggest need, though, was a big. Vic did some work.

Do you think Vic is looking at her as a pf or center? She has played both.

I’d imagine primarily as a center to spell Oldacre, but I bet we’ll see more minutes with each on the court this upcoming season than we did with Jones and Oldacre together this past season. Cunningham is more athletic than Jones.  However, get another guard who can shoot and it’ll really open the interior up for those two. Teams just sat back in a 2-3 zone and clogged the interior because we couldn’t shoot threes. A healthy Phelia, another year of development for Lee and Booker, some minutes for Crump, and hopefully another portal guard who can shoot will solve for that.

Don’t tell me Prince still has eligibility. Who are the 3 trees?

The Kentucky transfer and 2 recruits, one from Germany and one from Australia

Fulwiley is a true difference maker who can break down nearly any D. Not many others can.

This is true. But I can’t imagine her wanting to go anywhere she won’t start. She *could* start over Rori and Preston, but would that actually happen? I’d also believe Preston would transfer if we brought Fulwiley in.

If Jak continues to improve and Carlton starts to show, that isn't a bad line-up. If they don't, then the 4G with Harmon and Preston on the court together could be best. After all, Vic did say the 4G was statistically the best this past season.

Or get difference maker at PF from the portal. I don't see that being Cunningham. Need someone more mobile like Clarrisa Davis.

A lack of mobile bigs will be an issue until it's addressed. Yes, there are varying degrees of both "mobile" and "big." And yes, some fans will point to plays such as Oldacre's steal and layup against TCU and a few Jones runouts as evidence we had mobile bigs this season. However, the mobility we need going forward is lateral quickness and quick flat-footed jumping, both of which are especially helpful on D and offensive rebounding. The very best rosters have some of those players.

The Swedish girl from FAU is now following Rori and the TexasWBB account

Can’t complain about a 6’6 freshman who would probably get some developmental playing time in year 2 of college and be a 2 year “starter” after Oldacre graduates, alongside Cunningham

Texas is going to have three players 6'4 or taller next season that will actually see the floor. That'll be a nice change.

Charlie’s draft prospect rankings are amazingly poor.  Prince is his 8th rated prospect.  Gaston is 15, also undrafted. And the drafted players are littered with way below 40 players.  The UConn point guard was in the 70s. Some Russian 2nd rounder was in the 90s.   Was this all AI that they put Charlie’s name to?

Well, Prince didn’t get drafted because she beats her girlfriends up. He can justify that ranking by saying it was just an on-court rating.

The rest though is just because he sucks. Very few people cover women’s basketball well, there’s major opportunity for anyone willing to put in the work.

Yep, his brackets were bad too.

With all due respect , I love Rori just like everyone here, but if Vic truly put the best five on the floor Fulwiley is there everyday and twice on Sunday.

With that being said I dnt think Vic makes that move. A lot of promise in Preston, wouldn’t want to lose that, plus Vic is invested in Rori, doubt he makes that move .

I agree with everything you wrote. I just don’t see Vic taking Fulwiley and starting her over both Rori and Preston when Rori decided to come back.
