It is with closeted evangelical Republican men.

As the most correct person on this board, I’d like to thank myself for maintaining steadfast support of John Whitmire, lifelong Democrat, as mayor in Houston. Knowing this would be the best thing possible, and throwing cold water on any anger/enthusiasm from the largest area of Republican voters in the state.

Goddamn I’m still right and all of you were still pussies

If the economy is such garbage and immigration is so bad, why are 95% of Ted’s ads and mailers just gay panic?

Culture wars!

Those are the only Ted commercials I’ve seen. The fucker has been a senator for 12 years and has no accomplishments to brag about or ideas for the future. Just bullshit to piss off the dumbest, most bigoted assholes among us.

This tells me (or maybe I'm just pre-coffee delusional) that the immigration ads weren't working - and why would they? Trump scuttled the border bill that you know Allred would have voted for.

Going back to the culture war well with gay panic is so hot right now

If you told me Ted's dad is running his campaign, I'd believe it because it feels like a boomer who is out-of-touch with people.

This is the part of the simulation when it comes out that Cruz is actually a bearded transgender woman, sings "This is Me" at a press conference and Allred wins by .5%

Their campaign against Allred indicates a distinct lack of fear.

Look man, not caring about shit makes you appear cool.

And people like cool folks.

So maybe Allred not trying convinces enough people that he’s cool and their ick from Cruz nudges them just enough to vote for Allred.

If he doesn’t run / try then maybe people forget to be scared of his communist Marxist Nazi Demon-rat policies.

I mean, democrats have tried in the past and lost.

Maybe there is something in NOT trying?

Welp, the other option is a Baylor uniform.  I think that's worse.

Yeah have seen the Ted Cruz ads non-stop about Allred wanting boys to be in girls locker rooms.

That's his main attack angle right now lol.

Pulling it out of my ass I actually give Allred like a 40% chance right now.

Saw a commercial yesterday where a bald, faceless, black man with "Allred" on his jersey tackled a young girl.

I know this is their angle yet the blatantness of it still shocked me.

Allred should spend the next month in Harris county getting out the vote. Residents who should be voting and don’t could give him the win by themselves since most of them would be more likely to vote dem or at least anti-Cruz. Can’t be an area in Texas that hates him more

Has Allred made any in person campaign appearances? Serious question.

I saw that commercial over and over again while in Houston visiting my parents.  It is one of the worst commercials I've ever seen.

His campaign account on Twitter posts these.

His campaign appearances? If so, they might want to broaden their reach since a lot of people have bailed out on Twitter since it’s hellscape these days.

A friend of ours went to one at Southside Ballroom a month or so ago. I think there were a couple hundred people there tops.

Allred needs to hammer this point in the debate.

Also, call this bullshit out during the debate. Make Cruz either own it or disown it.

Yes.  He hasn't been Barnstorming Beto, but he's most likely to do a public event tied to a fundraiser in the same area.  I had a friend who went to see him not long after the Harris/Trump debate and said his messaging and delivery now is much better than at the beginning of the campaign.

Would love to see an ad where it puts Cruz dribbling a basketball off his knee next to Allred sacking a QB.

His campaign can send out dozens of texts every week asking for money, but they can’t shoot out a link to where he can be found at a campaign event? I haven’t heard about a single campaign event in the Houston area.

Got that as well, lmao

Well now I’m a little jealous because I’ve twice voted in the Republican primary purely to have the satisfaction of voting against Cruz an extra time.

Using that as kindling would have made my weekend.

Cruz wasn’t getting primaried. Your vote was more valuable in the D primary voting for Gutierrez over Allred.

Only diehards know what went down with the border bill. The right and fox viewers were convinced that border bill was going to make “terrible Biden and RINO border policies permanent” … they just can’t see anything Trump says or does for what it is. “Independents” aren’t paying enough attention to have any idea so there’s no telling what they’re thinking on immigration. Regardless, it’s encouraging to me that this anti trans sports shit is the issue that Cruz thinks resonates.

Ted Cruz has four different Allred supports transgender Texans advertisements running around the clock.

How is that a top 3 issue for millions of Texans when our education and healthcare blows?

For fucks sake. I don't even smoke but I need a smoke break.

Why is that? Allred is within 1% of Ted Cruz. I have no idea who Gutierrez even is.
