Cam Rising is about to enter his seventh season at Utah. However, this year doesn't have to be his last in Salt Lake City.

The Utes standout QB has the option to play an eighth and final season in 2025 due to a proposed settlement agreement of a lawsuit between the NCAA and the United States Justice Department. This agreement would restore one year of college eligibility to players who were required to sit out a season due to the transfer eligibility rule during or since the 2019-20 academic year.

DKR MEDIA PRESS BOX TO BE RELOCATED, REPLACED BY SUITES

The University of Texas System Board of Regents has approved athletics to begin taking steps toward relocating Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium's media press box — currently located on the west side of the stadium — to split locations in the southeast and southwest corners of DKR in time for the 2026 football season.

Sources said once the press box is gutted, after the 2025 season, it will be replaced by 10 suites that have already been sold for $10 million apiece.

The press box would then be divided into two locations in the south end of DKR, where the concrete party decks in the southeast and southwest corners are currently located. UT's current press box is on the eighth floor of Bellmont Hall, located on the west side of DKR.

The 10 $10 million suites will be two stories. That means the kinesiology department, located on the seventh floor of Bellmont, is being relocacted to the second floor.

So the press box will no longer be on the 50ish yardline? That seems odd for play-by-play purposes.

Also interesting that Rising and Casey Thompson were both in the same 2018 recruiting class for Texas and are both still in college.

LOL. Casey is still playing? Where - FAU?

This sounds ridiculous and counterproductive when you want to give the people who influence sports minds a good impression of your program.

Just wait until the road team's crew that we stick in the southeast corner has to deal with the sun glaring in their face the whole game.

How about you imbeciles wait until the actual new layout, replete with a logical plan for the press, is publicly announced and put on display? Maybe after that, if you need to whine and plea for the fucking media, your arguments might have a prayer of making sense.

We don't get a bye in that projection.

Trey Moore and Collin Simmons at DE going to be fun to watch

Hell, I'm looking forward to seeing what steps Sorrell and Burke take this season. With Moore and Simmons getting snaps, everyone should be able to play with greater intensity. And while I'm under no illusion SEC refs are impeccable, I don't think we'll see so much blatant holding ignored.

does bond suck, is he the truth, or in either case are the reports of the opposite some kind of deliberate disinformation or simply dipshit reporting?

every day i don't hear alfred collins' name concerns me

My impression between the insights on here and the reports of him making some splash plays are that he is your standard issue talented but flaky receiver. He's probably too explosive to keep off the field, especially with how much Texas is going to have to lean into the passing game going forward, but for fans used to watching talent and commitment on the level of Xavier Worthy, AD Mitchell, and Jordan Whittington he's probably going to look unremarkable in that context.

What’s more important: (A) giving the Tuscaloosa Times reporter one of the best seats in the stadium, or (B) generating tens of millions of new dollars that help fund scholarships for outstanding academic students, pay professor salaries, and IMPROVE THE ACTUAL FOOTBALL PROGRAM YOU ARE WATCHING?

Come on man.
