what was the ship with all the tail lights at the end ?

”’you don’t have to take the assessment anymore”

whim smirks. Jedi ship?

New Republic Corellian Corvette. Probably not the Tantive IV since it was a different color. Wim knew a larger world just opened up for his future.

That was great.

I wondered why Jod didn't just forcewield Wim into the wall when he turned on the light sabre. I guess he knew he was fucked since the barrier was down and deep down he didn't want to hurt any of them.

Deep down, he’s good, and maybe, in another timeline, he and Fern’s mom get together, and he becomes a good stepdad.

I love that they kept vague (so far) who Jod’s female Jedi mentor was

Agreed. One of the strengths of the show was that it stayed within itself and didn’t go down any of those rabbit holes. There’s a lot to be said for maintaining a sense of wonder and unknown, which was one of the strengths of the OT. Conversely, the prequels were weighed down by trying to answer those questions, and the story suffered.

I’ve been wanting to get with Fern’s mom since ancient times.

Loved her in Rome

I commented to my daughter that it reminded me of E.T. and The Goonies which she has seen but didn't feel the association between those movies and the show.

100% Star Wars Goonies.  Which is why it is awesome.

Yes it’s goonies

In Star Wars.

I mean.... reminded isnt even the right word... that whole 6th episode was literally a condensed version of every single qction moment in Goonies from the moment they discovered Chester Copperpot to the escape into the Lagoon.

we had the laser defense system which only cut off peoples heads, the trapdoor to a pit, a gravity trap door to an upper punji stick, with the bad guys (Fertell's/pirates) chasing them, a puzzle that if not solved would kill them (playing the bones vs feeding money to the acid), a literal pirates treasure room, complete with booby traps (holla Data), including the literal main feast table having a trap if you touched the wrong item on it, and finally the kids sliding down the tubes like the water slide to the lagoon.

I loved it.... and yes, the chase in the woods was ET on hoverbikes.

FINALLY!

  Reveal hidden contents

Got to a see a B-Wing get some combat action and it not be on a cartoon. So what happened to the original pirate? Did he just die on the ship? Loved the Order 66 still being active. So it was Old Republic and then went dark. Did the Emperor not know about it? A droid running an entire planet is amazing and the adults either didn't know or only certain ones knew and kept it a secret because they knew what opening the barrier would mean.

Loved it. What a fun show.

I think you missed a technical point.

Spoiler

as for the original captain, 33 said in ep 7 that as they were heading to At Attin,  the crew betrayed the old captain and that his consort knifed him, but that the captain got the last laugh because he locked out the controls as they crash landed onto At Attin.

as for 2nd question The AI said the last message they got from the "Republic" was that all Jedi were traitors... which was something the Emperor would have sent, especially since the first thing he did after issuing order 66 and surving Windu was to declare the first Galactic Empire.  so yeah this is set about 25ish years later. either the Emperor didnt know about this place, or forgot about it dealing with fiendish emperor things.... which does seem weird because the first thing you need to do if you are creating a new government is create new currency to show who is really in charge.

Jod my guy there are over 1000 full vaults, no need to enslave a peoples and complicate your plan. Load up your big ass ship and gtfo. Your other ship is the key and can get you back in if you ever run out.

He promised the pirate crew riches.

but yea. He should have loaded up and just bounced.

but then the kids prolly plan something to stop him from coming back.

Exactly that ending made no sense. Fun show and enjoyable watch but the ending was kinda dumb.

Well the planet was safe, few knew the coordinates, there was little threat among the docile population, and the barrier restricted entrance. It would have been a great place to call home. His pirate crew fucked it up by being violent and blowing shit up scaring and motivating people to action.

Sucks that this might not get picked up. Kids now want to binge watch it and watch other Star Wars shows.

That's what pirates do. They pillage. The kids were always going to act against Jod to save their world. The reason Jod stayed on the planet was pretty evident. He got gold fever. He literally bathed himself in credits at the end of episode 7. Why would he need to go off world when he could just stay and plunder from unlimited resources. It was the ultimate pirate treasure. He also was being hunted across the galaxy. He could stay on a hidden planet until he grew tired of that.

The only part that seemed kinda dumb to me is that they just left Jod alone in the control tower.

That was to setup a possible season 2 or allow Jod to return in some other Star Wars property.
