Richt hosed the U waiting for Diaz to go elsewhere

Unless he just woke up one day and decided to retire this is a pretty shitty thing to do.

Hottest up and comers are Brown, Littrell, Diaz, Babers (i know, the extension), and Brohm

Brown makes sense

Diaz would have to walk away from Temple

Littrel sorta makes sense, but no recruiting background in the SE

Babers or Brohm would be a HR

I guess the better question is who is the second tier?

Is Herman a threat to leave for the NFL? Why are Rhule and Campbell considered NFL candidates over him?

The NFL values different types of coaches. It's why Kingsbury is a legit NFL candidate after just being fired at Tech. Sometimes good coaches don't translate at the college level because they aren't good recruiters.

Rhule has NFL rep because of his time with the Giants.

Damn. And to think just over a year ago, the U and their turnover chain were the talk of college football

Soo... Who gets to keep the "turnover chain", the school or the ol' ball coach..? Seems the new coach will want a new scheme/ tactic to use...

Unless something has changed, Miami has a history of not wanting to pay legit money for HC's or assistants.  That will be a factor here.

Yes but you get to live in Miami, perfect place for Pirates.

And Miami might not be much better a job than Oregon, if at all. Better recruits in Fla, what else?

No pay, shitty facilities, and an off campus stadium. Recruiting is great, but I think it has less value today because communication and travel are much easier today.

Cristobal seems like a natural target for them.

He does, but would he trade Oregon for it?

Better talent base, but more competition and expectations. It's his home but honestly seems like a wash.

If Riley leaves for the NFL will Holgorsen be a legit option for ou?

It's weird that people have such a high opinion of Holgorsen. He's 38-32 in the Big 12. WV is probably going to let him walk and get a coach with a higher upside at a much lower price.

Holgo isn't OU material.

some ADs are going to have to play a game of Rich Rich Todd

it is kind of the opposite of Duck Duck Goose where you go around in circles and put your hand on the head of a coach and the next to last one playing gets Rich Rod and the loser gets Todd Graham

Fitzgerald would be an idiot to take a look at the NFL. He has the best gig you can have in his situation. Just win enough.  Avoid scandal. Don't shit the bed multiple years in a row. Can be at nw as long as he wants.
