I have no idea how much YouTube ad money pays, and I'm not really sure exactly what the size of his operation is (I can make a guess from his equipment and storage), so it would be hard for me to say that definitely.  I have a hard time believing that YouTube generates more revenue than a 7K+ acre operation, but would likely have (much) better margins due to the total lack of overhead.

Yeah, hyperbole. Let's make a guesstimate:  According to google you avg Youtuber makes $200-$300 /100k views. If that is accurate, based on 1,587K views the last 4 weeks that is $3,174-$4,761

eta: shit that is probably almost half his tractor payment (looks like that 9570RT is like a $700k tractor).

Lots of videos that estimates how much youtubers make.  Don't know how accurate any of this is.  I've read that youtube typically pays  $2-4/1000 views.  Could be wrong.

lol there would be a youtube video, what was I thinking.

Been wanting to post this guy, Rick Beato, I am not huge into music, and can't play it, but I think this stuff is interesting as hell.

edit: his best videos are the "what makes this song great?" series, very similar to above but just one great song.

I'll just say that after having some lower back aches and searching YouTube for beginner stretching exercises my YT recommendations page is fucking lit.  The algo is kicking serious ass with these limber soft core porn actresses filling up a significant amount of screen space.

Millenial Farmer spends a lot more time screwing around than I do.

But yeah, there's a hell of a lot overlap.  He's a straight up celebrity in the Upper Midwest/northern Plains ag community and I do agree that it's funnier than hell.  I can't imagine filming everything I do and the time it would take to upload and edit shit.  But good on him, the guy's created a significant and outside-the-box extra revenue stream for the operation.

So I halfway roll my eyes at it, halfway wish I had thought of it first, but definitely know I'm (and my family/coworkers) not cut out for that kind of exposure either.

Cool.  Now do Cole the Cornstar.

This guy does incredible videos in terms of presentation, explanation, and documentation.  I watch all 30+ minutes of shit I have absolutely no clue about.

A good intro might be starting with his personal recaps

This is an internet buddy from a KC Royals forum. Don't hold that against him, he covers a lot of interesting topics from Steamships to sustainable land management and beyond. It's Missouri-centric but most of the conservation talk applies to most any geographic area.

Posted this in the music forum, but thought it might be enjoyed here as well.  I submit Pat Finnerty's YouTube Channel.   The dude is freaking funny and does a series called "what makes this song stink." He recently did an episode on Machine Gun Kelly's "Emo Girl."  If you want a fun internet ride, go watch that episode and the update and then follow the path it takes you down.  It's honestly some of the most fun I have had on the internet.

Cliff notes: He says that if MGK is bringing back Pop Punk, he wants in on the gravy train.  He creates a fake pop punk band named "August is Falling," records an EP of formulaic emo pop punk songs with his buddies, and starts a grass roots YouTube campaign to get the first single sucked into the YouTube algorithm vortex.  Five days later, it's on Apple Music's "New Music Today" playlist.

This cop is a riot.  The episodes are named "Fridays with Frank".

Just started watching this,

I live in this county and recognize some of the locations. I have yet to be stopped by any of the local cops.

One sad note, on 12/16, Sheriff Lamb's son, son's fiancé (died one week later after being in ICU), and their daughter were killed in an auto crash, suspected drunk driver (not injured) hit them.

Don’t have the link since I watched the video a while ago but I thought this would be a great way to travel as long as you aren’t a control freak.

A guy from London had his roommate book him the cheapest early flight to another country from wherever he was that day. He’d spend 3 days in each location with the goal of seeing 3 of the major sites, eating the national dish, and getting drunk on the national drink. His roommate would text him his next flight info the night before his next flight.

What's the episode where he shoots a buncha dogs?

Anyone watch Colin Furze? This guys is nuts, funny and smart as hell. He usually builds contraptions that can cause great bodily harm, but the one(s) that kept me most entertained were of him digging a tunnel from his shed to his house, and his shed to the underground bunker he built before.

Another channel is Hacksmith Industries. It's a bunch of really smart Canadians (eh?) building stuff out of sci-fi movies.

Here's one of them using cameras, wires and AI to summon Thor's Hammer.

I do some YouTube. Current rates for me are at about a $10 cpm, but I'm also in the travel niche, which I think would have higher ad rates than more general interest videos.

Most of the big YouTube creators make a lot of their income from Patreon. If a patreon is charged $2 per video, which is a common base level membership, the money adds up quickly. One sailing channel I watch has 1,400 patrons with membership ranging from $2 -20 per video. Even if all of them are base members, that’s $2,800 per weekly video.

I’ve been watching this guy’s channel for a little while.  Most of it covers all different communities in America.  (Jewish culture, Gang culture, Border issues, West Virgina folks, etc.)

A few interesting videos:

Also if you haven’t seen the “Soft White Underbelly,” YouTube Channel it’s a must.  And will definitely make you appreciate all of the good things you’ve experienced in your life.
