CSB: I was religious as a youth, and Colt had by far the best and most inspirational “I am Second” testimonial out of any of them. I still watch it occasionally

I feel compelled to remind you of the 11th Commandment…thou shalt not make shitty predictions.

Only 2 Qbs in my lifetime ever stepped on the field and I knew we were gonna win  Vince and Colt.  They just owned the field. Leadership. Talent. Skill. Not rattled.  If you were down to your last drive. Either of these 2 were money.    Sam Ehlinger was a close 3rd due to his want and running.  But 100%. Vince and Colt.

also time flies and we are getting fucking old

No truer words written. As John Madden once said, “He has it. If you don’t know what “it” is then you don’t have it.”

I am so ready for some relatively stress free Texas football again where all I have to worry about will be what the margin of victory will be.

Haha, I remember the behind the scenes stuff on their Heisman ceremony week in NY and got the exact same vibe. Colt and Bradford got along pretty well and seemed like real friends, but it was clear Colt had no tolerance for Tebow’s bullshit. It was hilarious.

I remember all three of them were promoted as people of faith. Colt and Sam were more of the reserved religious types and Tebow was a Righteous Gemstones type.

Colt really had "it."  In a way few other QBs ever had.

@closetojumping Do you have the full story of the Ketch call to Brad McCoy on NSD in 2005? He posted his version of it which I'm assuming is heavily biased and I'm wondering what actually happened. Quote is spoilered below.

Spoiler

If Ryan Perrilloux had signed with the Longhorns in 2005, would Colt McCoy have ended up at LSU? I'm not sure we'll ever truly know, but I know that Brad McCoy called me on National Signing Day in 2005 before his son signed his letter of intent to confirm that Perrilloux hadn't signed with Texas. Weirdly, Mack Brown called me out in the media later that day, telling everyone at a round table that I had called Mr. McCoy to try and talk him out of letting his son with Texas. I was so pissed at such a wild and baseless accusation that I told him in front of everyone that I was willing to discuss what happened that morning in specific detail, complete with me showing all incoming and outgoing calls from my phone that day. Mack kind of apologized and declined to further discuss the matter in front of the rest of the media on hand. As far as I can remember, it's the only time in three decades that anyone has ever called into question my character in such a way.

Ha. I don’t know that one. I laughed at his bullshit at the end though.

If you ask Bobby on OTF, he might recall it. Hell, he or Gerry.
