I think this has been like this since 2022 or so though once we knew we were heading to SEC and that's why they moved the student sections over a little bit because there is a SEC rule that says student sections can't be between the 30s

This is correct

Starting in on blOU game early...

There's a big part of me that thinks this too. We have two whole weeks to analyze every aspect of this game and of course anything can ultimately happen. I know how I'd attack Texas if I were OU. But Texas is just a better team and if they play clean they should win decisively.

Lunch w/Coaches -- Areas to improve:

  • Running the ball
  • Run Defense
  • Turnovers
  • Penalties
  • Assignment Mistakes

Staying Engaged During the Bye | Penalty Issue? | Lunch with the Coaches

Bryan says teams now have a blueprint on how to slow down and compete with Texas -- he refers to it as "Four Corners Offense" (Tarheels basketball reference when there was no shot clock)

Seriously? All they need to do is get Texas to play a bland ass defense, showing not much, against a team they’re going to choke out, while daring them to score 4 yards at a time. Ugh.

Why doesn't Niblack play? What's the story on him?

Middle of Sept comment by CTJ:

"Regarding Niblack, since I'm catching up here, he's struggling with the playbook. He's not unwilling to block and such. Dude needs to be able to be relied upon to block the right guys and run the right routes. They want him out there."

Also here's a positive comment on Niblack's development - "coming along a little bit and might be able to help them down the road16:32 mark

Lots of good commentary (15mins) regarding his visit to Texas for MissSt game.   Starts at 1min mark

Stupid shit like that is a good way to not be invited back. Maybe that’s his long game, to be a patron saint to aggy.

Dumb and unprofessional at the very least. 🙄

A couple of nuggets on the running back room as Texas officially enters its bye week today.

Reminder, there is no practice Friday morning or this weekend.

***

– I am told Jaydon Blue has had a strong week of practice so far. The two fumbles suffered against Mississippi State have left him committed to bouncing back in a big way against Oklahoma in Dallas.

Blue doesn't lack for confidence and right now is chomping at the bit to get the ball back in his hands in a meaningful game.

– RB Jerrick Gibson is expected to be as close to full strength against Oklahoma as he has been all season long. The freshman back has been dealing with a lingering ankle, however after just four touches a week ago and the bye week, the former IMG Academy running back is expected to return to his healthiest form since the season opener.

– Grad transfer RB Velton Gardner was inactive a week ago due to injury in what had become a pretty surprising development. I was told the injury was a cut above the eye that left Gardner sidelined last weekend. I would consider him questionable at the moment – have yet to hear a definitive update on him just yet.

– RB Colin Page is recovering well, though I have yet to hear what his status will be for Oklahoma. Regardless, health is slowing returning to the Texas running back room.

WTF did Gardner do to his eye that might keep him out a month?

If you've got a deep gash, like one that requires stitches, stuffing your head into a helmet and getting hit at full speed can easily reopen it. Too much friction.
