He's making an excuse.  His wife won't let him come.

Naw she’s cool, but she did wonder whether last week was going to be really hot, and of course now that I showed her a pic of our fearless leader passed out on the ground and sticking his head in an ice chest she feels we dodged heat stroke.

I'll have TV and stuff setup as close to 1 as possible, but probably closer to 2, Food will be ready to go by 330-4. Beer will be ice cold at 1:15 assuming I make it there on time.

you're the one looking for a beer in the cooler aren't you?

Great tailgate @immamac,. sucks that the OTF guys left early. nice to see @Hook1997 even if he did think I was 5'2".  also as  a warning,  if you ask the social club for a double of bullet, you'll get $24 of whisky in a high ball glass.

Thanks @immamac for the ride to downtown after the game even if it did take us forever with traffic lol.  Went to my buddies bar and he literally just brought me a shot randomly like every ten minutes.

So the weather looks like it's gonna be super nice for the SEC Home Opener.

I think I'm gonna try to do Mississippi Pot Roast in a big 80qt pot that I usually do crawfish in. Does anyone have experience doing something like that? We need to feed 100+ so I'm gonna do ~35-40lbs of chuck roast. I do need help with sides and/or a bread connection. I will have cheddar American and provolone cheese, and some basic dressing stuff. May just go really easy and get a bunch of bags of potato chips?

It would be really awesome if someone would just hook me up with someone who wants to cater/donate in exchange for us pushing their restaurant/brand. Juggling all this shit with my family is starting to get to be too much and costs are absolutely out of control for any catering menus in town for food that isn't really just dogshit. We got lucky with the taco place I've been using, but 3 games in a row just sounds like not ideal.

Also if someone wants to cook/bring the food I'll pay for everything food cost wise, I have more of a time problem than a food cost problem if that makes sense.

We are planning to attend for MS-ST.  Will be the wife and I and possibly our younger son.  We're traveling from 4 hours away, so I'm not sure I can help with food and have it show up in reasonable condition, but if you have ideas for something that can be put together with reasonable ease and will travel well, let me know.

My wife does an amazing Mississippi pork roast. Pork might be cheaper than beef.

Little kids who have like a bite to eat and a water or sprites don't need to pay. Like a 13 year old who houses food and drinks 6 waters should pay.

That's what I figured.  I just sent money for the three of us and sent them a link and told them it was $20 each for them and for each of their 3 boys, who I know to have appetites.  They won't think twice about it, and are psyched to come.  Looking forward to it!

Sorry to miss the SEC opener tailgate, as I’ll be flying back from Oregon after moving my daughter into her freshman dorm, but looking forward to the thread with photoshopped pics of imma shitting himself.

Pot roast sounds good.  Excited to make it for the first time this year. Bringing a friend.  I can pick up some Hruska's Klobasneks if that sounds Interesting...should be at the Tailgate between 1-1:30.

My go to for feeding the masses is deconstructed lasagna. Which should be just a Costco trip.

bowtie pasta- parboil the sauce will do the rest
jar sauce- Rao’s for me
mozzarella bag
parmesan
provolone slices for the top
optional- bag of spinach

The throw away chafers I see in the pix is what I use.
Usually do half vegetarian and grab some Costco rotisserie chickens to shred for the other half.

Then salad and bread.

Does anyone have a TV tripod or stand extra? The one inordered formula second TV got delayed and won't be here. No big deal we can throw it on a table worst case.

We need a pledge member program to take care of these things.

A bit of light hazing never hurt anyone.

We are planning a pre-game / watch party at the yeungling beer garden. On Texas Football will do a live show there and we are working on some special stuff.
