I'm talking about the fact that the teams are ranked, seems unusual to see that many ranked teams play on an opening Thursday. I guess "action" was the wrong word, I agree they'll be blowouts.

I think there are more games than usual, yes.

Wish there would have been a couple more P4/P4 games wk 0 and tonight and tomorrow but there's always fun surprises like SMU/Nevada.

Does anybody else think Georgia Tech should be on upset alert after just notching their biggest win in forever AND having to travel back from Europe? Georgia State has a new coach and a bunch of transfers in and out, but if there was ever a recipe for a letdown it's gotta be this one. Maybe this belongs in the betting thread, but 21.5 seems like a crazy number in this game.

I think Georgia is horribly overrated. They are living off their rep and for the reasons you listed, are going to struggle on offense. They had the cushiest schedule imaginable last season and lost to the only good team they faced in what was essentially a home game in Atlanta. I think they have a better than decent shot of missing the playoffs with games at Texas, at Bama and at Ole Miss. But I do think they beat Clemson in a terrible, low scoring, borderline unwatchable game.

No way. Big win hangovers are a myth. Oh, wait…

Reigning DII champ (yes, I refuse to call it D1) SOUTH DAKOTA ST @ OKIE LIGHT could make for an interesting off-the-radar game today.  So could Boise State @ Georgia Southern to a slightly lesser extent.

My wife did her undergrad at South Dakota State and I’ve been following their football team for about the last four years. Don’t sleep on these guys. They can play.

D-2 is a whole 'nother thing that Harding is the champion of. DI-AA is the old name of SDSU's division.
