1. It sucks that the Red Coat band was not there. Texas has the most bland bullshite bang in the nation.
2. Regardless of what UT fans say, there were a lot of UGA fans in attendance despite the claims of Texas fans on here. We held up our phones to do Krypton Fanfare despite having no band to actually play the music. It was at least 20% of the stadium.
4. Texas fans are trashy and booed every single time they had a penalty thrown against them.
5. They are NOT an SEC team. Their decibel meter may have gotten over hundred once. That coming after ther worst display of officiating I’ve seen since my first UGA game in1976.
6. They ran their dance team out on the field at least 10 times.
7. frick them, the officials, they’re female students majoring in how to dress like a prostitute ( I throw this in there because it hoot my arse in trouble with my wife for staring), and the entire game day.

From secrant.

I am not following the piece about the band. Who the fuck then was playing the same song when we were on 3rd down? Over, and over, and over. And how bout once more in case you didn't get it the first ten thousand times!

Jesus that was a beating on my ears, and ABC had mics on their band turned up so goddamn loud on the broadcast. I don't understand how their fans can stand it.

Like what do you do?  Rove around DKR all game?  In the bottle throwing incident thread you posted about being close to some of the bottle throwers (lower bowl NE corner student section ) and now you are posting man on the scene assessments from the West Upper Deck

You mis-read. I was near bottle throwers at the 1995 Sugar Bowl.

I have season tickets in the WUD and have since 1996. I left my seat exactly once Saturday night, but I do sit near a busy aisle and get to see and hear hundreds of fans as they pass by.

They were extremely faint from the other side of the field. But yeah, that woman is a liar.

Is that Bruce's brother?

I don't know any Bruce Springfield.

Did you mean Bruce Springsteen?

If so, probably not, as their last names are spelled and pronounced differently.

the upper west side concourse was a clusterfuck and totally unsafe.

First time on the west side in years, man it sucks compared to the east side.  From clusterfuck, to selection of food and locations, selection of beverages, bathrooms, even the take and pay coolers have less choices, it’s a total step down from the East side.  The difference is pretty amazing.

This is perhaps the single least intelligent, most unintentionally hilarious sentence ever written on the internet.

All true. But, the west side gets shade. (Though not so much in this game.) Advantage: West side.

Second time in the 15T section (Terrace); pretty fucking sweet set up, free food, no line for pisser or beer.  Got to say its a good gig if you can get it.  Endzone seats, but not too high or low, so the vantage point is nice.  IIRC we were Row 57, end seat plus the 3 next to it so in and out easy to the concourse.  Also really close to North entrance and the white tent tailgating area.  We had our annual event for a fallen classmate.  Outstanding day.

Believe it or not, I would’ve liked the Jumbotron’s volume to be higher on Saturday. Not sure if the wind makes that much or a difference, but weird how it’s either blasting eardrums or can’t hear it at all.

I thought our fans were extremely quiet in the first Q. We got loud several times during the game, but you could have heard a pin drop for much of Clemson’s opening drive. Seemed like the fans, the band, and the production folks were waiting for something to happen while Clemson marched down the field.

The first mariachi was fine (Selena ftw) but yeah the 2nd one came on when I was pissed.

Also why Kelly Clarkston? Should have just played Journey.

Also did y’all catch the “Grinch” lookalike on the screen? Lmao

Loved the random clips they showed like the raging cow in Family Guy breaking everything.

I thought the crowd was loud all game. Especially on those 4th down plays.

This. Total mood killer. Do dont stop believing or welcome to the jungle if you are running out of ideas.

Those two songs are the elevator music of sports games (and I like GnR, I'm not being a hater). There are so many good songs from or about Texas, go find some of those.

Yeah, I thought the crowd was really loud all game except for the first couple plays after the injuries.  Shout out to the students for showing up.  Also we all laughed at the graphic before they had to play the Clemson hype film before kickoff.  Also people were happy that the aisle beer vendors were back since yesterday wasn’t an SEC sanctioned game.

Couple more thoughts on yesterday's game:
- They still have not figured out how to take people's money fast enough to move them out of the concourse.  It is so crowded that it could be dangerous.
- Many people act as if they've never attended an event where there are 1000s of other people in attendance.  They look down at their phone and stop walking.  When there is a clear straight path, they walk like they are sailing upwind.
- Mariachis were fine for about 80 seconds. Then it took the entire 3 minute timeout.  Then, they went on a second time. Destroyed all of the energy in the stadium.
- West side  upper deck - south men's bathroom had around 0.5 cm of standing water near the toilets.

I sat in 104 yesterday.  Fans were great.  View was great.

We were in the lower section of the west corner of the north end zone and it was loud as hell when Clemson had the ball.

The “We are now obligated to play Clemson’s video” graphic was pretty funny.

Coming out of halftime, they played an hype video showing a lot of all-time longhorn great plays and narrated by Colt. It was an outstanding video.  I’d like to find a copy of it online somewhere.  I’m only at one or  two games a year but I don’t remember seeing that one before.

Man, some of yall just bitch to hear your own bitchy voices.  We were loud as hell and beat a good team. Mariachi was like two minutes of the entire experience and most people didn’t even notice.

This. Go attend a few games at other teams stadiums and you come home really appreciating what CDC has put together here.

I could have written this post. My thoughts exactly. That and Dabo being the Grinch look a like was great.

Didn't realize this bullshit.  Back to the big 12.

IMO, my bitching was for legitimate gripes :).  Or opportunities for improvement.

  • The over-crowded west-side upper-deck concourse has been a problem for years.  There's a safety aspect and "need to figure out how to separate customers from their money" aspect that CDC should spend time figuring out.  When I have sat on the north side or east side, it's nowhere near as bad, but the seats are inferior, so I will "suffer" for the in-game experience of the west side.
  • Oblivious people being oblivious.  It is a whine, but I cannot change anyone.  I can only change my reaction, which is to bitch on an internet message board.
  • Mariachi - Ok - that's just me bitching about personal preference - I concede, however it was more that 2 mins of the entire experience.
  • Bathroom floors covered in standing water.  That's a problem, IMO.

The in-stands/in-seats experience was great.  I was merely pointing out some basics that could be improved to make it a more seamless experience.

You are right that the entire game experience is top-notch.  I've attended games at other stadiums and DKR is top-notch.

Vandy was a disaster.  CDC finally fixed the food line problem on the east side with all the self check out's.  many times in the past I wanted to get something to eat but just said fuck it.  the revenue had to have increased on that front massively.

Would rather listen to the Mariachi over 80% of the mainstream nonsense they pipe in. Best option would be have LHB play more during timeouts, but that doesn't seem to be possible for whatever reason.

The bathroom situation at halftime in the North and East upper decks was the worst I've ever seen. Lines were about 2 sections deep at the ones I saw, although they did move at a pretty good pace. Probably more of a volume or user-error problem rather than a CDC issue.
