Venables told him there was going to be open competition in the spring. There’s been pretty intense booster pressure and family pressure pushing for Arnold to be the guy. So Gabriel split.

He couldn't have just won the conference, made the playoffs, gotten drafted and solved the problem all at once?  Come on, Dillon, help us out a little..

Right?!
OU was 1-12 on third down. Mind you, playing at home against one of the absolute worst FBS teams. Also had 62 penalty yards and only 378 yards of total offense. This OU team probably isn't very good.

One might say…they suck?

Ouch. Other than Burks he's their best WR.

If Anderson can make it back next week and stay healthy, that helps some.  He's got size and a talent for finding space and making contested catches that OU just doesn't have elsewhere.

Because I was watching the highlights of that game last week. Like I said we set a record for most yards in a game. There were a lot of offensive highlights.

I remember when I heard it after that game and couldn't believe David Ash led the offense to the most yards in a game in Longhorn history.

What is Anderson’s injury? They’re being cagey regarding him and when that’s happened in the prior two seasons, it’s usually meant the injury was a bigger deal than anyone figured.

I don't know for sure, and that's accurate to say cagey isn't good.  The noise was always that he's been held out as a precaution for something like a hamstring issue, in contrast to how they announced more detail about Farooq, for example.  Also of note, Woodi Washington and Gentry Williams were held out and are anticipated to return as soon as necessary.
