At first I thought that made no sense, but the more I thought about it, it's perfect for all 3 teams. The rams aren't going anywhere, take a flyer on a rookie scale QB. Tua is cooked, the Dolphins get a super bowl winner a d the Panthers get a couple of mid round picks.

If anyone can get the most out a QB, it's McVay. He will design an offense just for Bryce. They have a lot of good weapons for him on offense, although they are injury prone. Rams got all they could from Stafford, which was one season they won it all.

Dolphins know Tua days are numbered. And the fact he's not that good of a QB. They don't want to rebuild with the offensive weapons they have, so bring in a competent QB of Stafford.

Panthers are a dumpster fire and they just need draft picks right now. Not that they will use them correctly lol.

I think the trade makes sense for all parties.

I agree.  Stafford is still a top tier QB, but the Rams have too many injuries to really compete this year.  Get the #1 overall pick, who obviously has talent, and see where it goes.  The Dolphins are in a much better position to succeed this season.

The Dolphins are only $6M under the cap. I don’t see how they could fit Stafford’s contract under that.

Restructuring for $400, Alex .
