As a public defender, that's par for the course. I've probably been asked 50 times in my career "how can you do what you do for a living" or some variation of "how do you sleep at night."

I bet the third most asked question is: “Can you score me some good drugs?”

Not buying that he was considered a natural leader or universally respected for his intellect. I feel like I really, really know his type.

So very many male law school classmates of mine were practically indistinguishable from Cruz in their personalities. Smart but lacking in social skills and also emotionally stunted. Insecure, reactive, petty, and frequently inspiring second-hand embarrassment. Outlandish liars. Difficulty relating to women.

It's weird, because the women were almost entirely a sharp, attractive, mature group. The men were mostly a cluster of personality disorders.

I would guess that both Trump and Cruz are sociopaths, and Cruz loves where it's taken the dotard.

Honestly, I’m surprised it’s not more than that.

"Clubber, your prediction for what Heidi Cruz's pussy experiences during sex with any man other than her husband...and that's a lot of volume we're talking about...again-your predictions?"

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz says most Republicans were too afraid of being “held up as the modern day Klansmen” to be more critical of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who the Senate last week confirmed as the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court.

Cruz was asked on his podcast why only he and U.S. Sens. Josh Hawley and Tom Cotton were “grilling” Jackson during her confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee while “all of the other Republican senators were sitting there twiddling their thumbs.”

The Texas Republican responded that “most of them went into this nomination scared of their own shadow.”

“They didn’t want to be held up as the modern day Klansmen — which if you said any critical question, that was the attack that was coming,” Cruz said.

Cruz did not call out any senators by name.

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, another Texas Republican, also confronted Jackson during the hearings, telling her at one point he didn’t find her answers “credible.”

Both Cruz and Cornyn voted against Jackson’s nomination, which was opposed by all but three Republicans.

During the confirmation hearing, Cornyn pressed Jackson about her work as a federal public defender representing Guantanamo Bay detainees and quizzed her about how the high court has established new rights over time, such as in the landmark 2015 Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage.

He said he believed Jackson would use her spot on the bench to “attempt to use her vast legal skills to deliver specific results and get outside of her lane by making judge-made laws that are not supported by the text of the Constitution itself.”

Cruz was especially vocal in his opposition, focusing his criticism on sentences Jackson handed down that Republicans deemed too lenient, especially in cases involving child pornography. He also led the GOP in confronting Jackson on her views on critical race theory, reading aloud from the picture book “Antiracist Baby” in a moment that went viral online.

Democrats, including President Joe Biden, characterized the GOP cross-examination of Jackson as “harassment and attacks.”

Cruz defended his line of questioning, saying he was focusing on her record and avoiding personal attacks.

“That’s what a confirmation hearing is supposed to be about,” Cruz said. “Her record was far out of the mainstream.”

Can anyone name a man that Rafael has actually stood up to? Sure, he’ll try to slap a woman around, but has he ever talked back to another man?
