You could have just asked him if his dad killed JFK like President Trump said he did.

I've heard it may or may not be state law that you throw a full beer can at him prior to such a question.

He very likely was considering his committee work in nearby D.C.  But I also know he's on to the memes/web chatter after all this time that his staff showed him.  He knows it's a running gag now that Texas teams are like 2-14 in important games when he's in attendance as of late.  So I'm betting dollars to donuts that he was at the game, Houston lost, Ted/media team won't be posting any pics of him there, but that somebody got some cell pics of him anyway.  Least it gives us something to look forward to on a rainy, chilly Sunday tomorrow.

He for sure gets off on the vitriolic hate spewed his way, but he also knows at some point superstitious sports fans in Texas who lean hard right, will still vote for him but eventually tell him, "For one minute Ted, can you just fucking not!............."   And he doesn't take that kinda vibe well at all.

Not sure how I’d act if I saw him out in public, maybe go full blown keyboard warrior and harass his ass or just get his attention and give him the bird.

If I see him in an airport, I would just yell "Hey, everyone, it's Ted Cruz.   Where are you jetting off to today with the family, Ted?"

That or "Hey, fuckface."

I was flying out of IAH early this morning and saw his fat ass walking to a gate. Don't know the destination. It did take all I could muster to not yell out "hey you fat fuck".

Apparently he needs a police escort these days.

Ted at the airport, and it’s cold outside?

It’s goddamn layup to yell “Hey Ted! You headed to cancun again?”

At some point, does anyone who supports him ever find it odd that you never see him traveling with anybody in his family?  I get it, you're a Senator...most of your travel is done solo or with your staffers.  But you never, ever see Ted at an airport departing/arriving with any member of his family.  You never see them in Houston together either in the last several years-out to dinner, at a hotel, at a school event (save for one 3-inning appearance with one daughter at an Astros game).  He still follows the same routine.  Flies "home" to Houston, can't be seen checking into a hotel.  So an unmarked, secured Suburban shuttles him all the way to his Austin office so it looks like he flew home to see his family.  He quietly works out of his district office, can't be seen checking into an Austin hotel except for every once in awhile when it looks like he had some important, last-minute shit pop up.  But 80% of his "Texas Visits", it appears to folks he's "home" in Houston, but stays in Circle C outside of Austin.  And if anybody ever questions it, it was because something popped up that needed his attention at his office on San Jacinto at the federal building.  He could just fly to ABIA direct but I guess the ruse still works for him and his supporters so why fuck with a good thing, eh Rafael?

Now that Art Acevedo is coming back to Austin and getting on the city payroll, we will have to be careful it’s not reported to him.

We need a new meme of the warden from "Shawshank Redemption" patrolling threads.  "Or am I being toxic?"

Maybe I'm just subjective, maybe I am as shitty as Rafael.  But at least I don't project it onto my "constituents."  To think, Ted coulda been our nation's first female President had he not fucked up 2016 so badly.

I once saw Art and Ted chatting about Cuba years ago at the Hilton downtown.  Or maybe that was a codeword for an Havana Threesome.  Dunno, it's Sunday-not gonna judge.

Have y'all seen the Twitter feed of "Concerned Parent in North Texas?"  He does some pretty good shit, like this. Most of the time it goes over the heads of the intended audience, but that's par for the course.

Reminds me of the thread some years back somebody started asking about how safe it was to drive through El Paso on I-10.

Except the OP of that thread was not being ironic.

I could do without that guy talking to Sarah Stogner, pretty sure she was a lunatic R in the last election as well.

Counterpoint: her campaign involved her posting a video of her topless on a pumping jack.  That's leadership.

Basically Ann Coulter with tits. I guess she's running for DA in west texas next.

Quote

Sarah Stogner, a West Texas attorney who announced she would be a Forward Party candidate for Railroad Commissioner in 2024, announced on Twitter on Monday that she would be withdrawing from the race. Instead, Stogner plans to seek the Republican nomination for district attorney in the 143rd Judicial District, which includes Loving, Reeves, and Ward counties.

Say what you will about Sarah, but she's been a bulldog after the O&G industry on abandoned wells, saltwater mishandling, pipeline leaks and other negative environmental issues.

Yeah, I'd like to cap her well and then have her mishandle my pipeline leak and other issues of that nature.  Dammit!  I had something for this.

Rafael is trying to attach an amendment to a major aviation policy bill that would allow politicians to zip through airports out of sight of us normal peons.  I wonder what his motivation is for that.

Gee, Ted, who do you think is partly responsible for all of the threats made against politicians?   Different rules for the Dukes and Earls I see.

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/02/03/ted-cruz-airport-security-00139430

Asked about the need for his amendment, Cruz told POLITICO that it’s about ensuring that political VIPs aren’t endangered as they pass through public spaces in airports. The draft says the extra security would be available to those who are currently or have previously “been the subject of a threat.”

There are “serious security threats facing public officials,” Cruz said Tuesday. “It’s important that we take reasonable measures to keep everyone safe.”

The proposal comes at a time when threats against lawmakers are on the rise. The Capitol Police, the force that protects Capitol Hill, said that in 2023 it investigated about 8,000 threats against lawmakers, an increase of 500 over the previous year. And those threats tend to spike in election years, suggesting another bump is on the way.

Airports? The one public place where people have their belongings and selves x-rayed to enter?

What about kids going to school with the threat of an 18 year old with an AR-15, Ted?

Beto had lightning in a bottle and lost by 2.5%. Allred won't get within five. Yes, seven is more accurate.

Did Ted provide anyone with a list of all of the incidents at airports that compromised the safety of traveling politicians?  Having to hear the opinions of people doesn’t count as dangerous, as much as it counts as part of the job you worked to get.

True, but Beto also is an overrated caricature onto which too many people project too much bullshit.  You want rid of Ted Cruz?  Only one way to do it.  Primary him with Democrat support.  But fucking people have to make sure their voice is heard on some nonsensical Democratic local Justice of the Peace so they pull a worthless, foregone ballot.  Do the fucking math, only way this cunt gets gone.  His age and stature suggests we're stuck with him for 30+ years unless Mike Pence and Democratic primary voters have the courage to do what's right.

Rafael is not, nor has he ever been, a senator concerned with the needs of Texans. He is essentially a full time podcaster,  and the people supporting him are perfectly fine with this.

Two observations:

  • She was a pretty necessary part of his point and didn't seem to lunaticky,
  • She needs a nose job.

Oh god, this stuff again. You're someone that pays attention to politics more than the average person. Without looking it up, who is running in a primary against Cruz?

Well nobody now, you spoiled it...jerk!  ;)

But a half-ass decent moderate Republican that is less of an asshole than Cruz (basically, the lowest bar imaginable) gets just a few hundred thousand Democrats to vote him/her in 2030 and Cruz slinks away in shame, his wife leaves him, his daughters at majority age disowns him, and he kills himself.  Just takes a little, shred of logistical organization.  That's it, that's all.  Game over.  We have, in our grasp, the ability to have one of the worst pieces of human shit to walk to Earth to lose his office of power and kill himself outta shame.  But yeah, you folks have to vote for the 2030 local DA's race.  Super proud.  Good effort.
