I think it’s great. If you’ve spent time in the oil and gas industry you’ll like it. It’s the little things. Granted, some of it is totally cheesy and over the top, but. BBT is good. Having a near 30 year old as a high schooler fucking kills me. Are there NO actors under the age of 30?! Good lord.

Anyway, I’ll stick with it.

It's so they could totally sexualize her and show her bare ass running through the house without feeling bad about it.

The film was underwhelming except for Annie Potts. Would.

Never saw the flick but loved the book…

Spoiler- not really… E3 has dropped and I loved the post-brunch pool scene .  Oh, and the non-bolt-on tits of the ex… :)

I am almost checked out. Can't stand the way the women are being written. I feel like there are many other, more believable ways Ali Larter's tits could have been shown.

The lawyer chick just standing there when there's a rattlesnake that ostensibly she's afraid of?  And rattlesnakes are SO overrated as a threat, anyway. Such lazy writing. I know that it's designed for audiences who don't know shit about West Texas and oil but god damn, Christian Wallace ... really?

The dumb city lawyer chick asking "what are those" really took the stupid to the next level.  I'm really enjoying the show though.

This episode felt like when Troy McClure took little Jimmy on a tour of the slaughterhouse to assuage any crazy ideas the kids may have about vegetarianism. But unironically.

Still love the show

Also, super cringe at Elvio's girl coming on to Landman Jimmy. Dont blame old boy for sticking that blade in his side

I think his name is Cooper, and it was an utterly preposterous scene. It was followed by the ridiculous rattlesnake scene.

Billy Bob, Billy Bob, Billy Bob ... what have you done?

Try growing up there. I think I’m the only person whose allergies actually got better moving to Austin for college. Hill Country Cedar ain’t got nothing on the dusty shitstorm in Midland.

Show is great so far. Over the top for sure. But the visuals are spot on. I’m a geologist in O&G (surprisingly not in the Permian) so I got a kick out of his son dropping out before graduating with a geology degree to become a roughneck instead. Ouch.

Also, the line about the fancy Mercedes rental car…”but I wouldn’t drive it in Odessa” was spot on and brought the lulz

So many good Billy Bob lines-

”Coach Saban retired”

“Fuck Alabama”

Lots of good local/West Texas cameos including Ratliff Stadium/Permian football, Midland skyline, etc.

Excited to see where it goes. Ali Larter is still a smoke show.  The daughter in the sundress and bikini was just ridiculously hot.

Intro music sounds like Explosions in the Sky a la Friday Night Lights show/movie which was a cool nod I thought.

Jon Hamm was great casting for a rich oil exec with the milf wife and hot track daughter at TCU. Perfect.

Yep.  Folks lived in Odessa, little bro went to Permian for HS.  Lots of things have changed, but a lot hasn't.  I actually liked it out there.  Even in the worst of the summer days, little humidity and crisp nights.  I remember when Ranger Hill froze over in the early 2000's, stuck out there for a week or so.  People were sleeping in jails, gas stations, etc.

This dude obviously got the role of Michael Penas cousin since he looks exactly like Michael Pena plus 25 lbs

I had to look him up to see if he was Pena's brother. (He isn't.) J.R. Villarreal, he's got a long acting resume. He was the main opponent in Akeelah and the Bee.
