Survivor 47

I've watched almost every episode of this show.  It's odd to me that, when the newbies mention who they pattern their game after, I have absolutely no idea who any of them are.  Of course I know the OGs - Rob, Amber, Colby, Tina, etc...; however, I'm not sure that I can name more than a couple of contestants from seasons ~ 4-40.  Do y'all recall most of these people?

What a meltdown in front of the other tribes, and he still survives the vote with ease. If you’re that anxious and paranoid before even the first tribal appearance is confirmed, I’m not sure you should go on Survivor.

Enjoyed the episode but two hours is too long.

he's a loose cannon, and i predict some kind of episode/event involving him will go down soon.   he seems like he should be on meds. hated to see jon go.  he seemed like a rational, sane, nice guy.

i'm pulling for the houston girl, and reading about the cast before the first episode, i like the girl from winnipeg also.

They desperately need to go back to two starting tribes.  Starting the game with only 6 per tribe encourages overthinking the early votes, which is how obvious first boots like Andy (like Bhanu last year) undeservingly survive.

Jon got a bad draw of a tribe - don't think there's any way he ever fully meshed with that group - and likely would have been gone soon regardless, but he didn't deserve to go first.

Autists and narcissists seem to be all they look for now.

The New Era recipe:

One (1) traditionally jacked male

One (1) traditionally hot chick

One (1) person over 40

Fifteen (15) Survivor super fans who went to elite colleges and have crippling anxiety

I thought Probst was going to drag Andy out into the sea and wrap him a weighted net and let him be fish food.  He hates quitters, whiners, and nuts who take a slot and waste it.

I think he was incredulous that the tribe didn’t ship him out after that breakdown in front of the other tribes.  I don’t think I ever saw that like that.  How did that Xanax ad get past the psych eval ?

Newest Pod Save America episode has some good info from Jon on what the experience was like, what we didn't see, and how it feels to be the first one out and watch each subsequent person join him, etc.

(DISCLAIMER: it's a left-leaning political podcast, so avoid if that fact makes you feel things)

Start with 2 tribes, then do occasional random mix ups at random times.  Also randomly go to tribal after a challenge, don't give anyone time to scheme, whine or bust out an idol.  If you don't have with you, then tough luck.

I'd definitely be down for some of this.  I'm not a fan of Redemption Island or similar second chance options, but if they are going to go with three tribes, they probably need to resort to something resembling it.  It's too easy get assigned to a no talent assclown team and be sent home before you have a chance to build any relationships.

Random tribals would be awesome, as would occasional surprise double tribals.

They were really on the same page for that vote.

didnt quite get some of those votes.  sol being stubborn and vindictive voting for rome when everyone knew he had an idol.  wasted vote.  who voted for genevieve?  another wasted vote.

i bet thats the 10th time, in 47 seasons, where a player was approached and told how the vote was going to go, and the person being confided in (as a gift, a nicety, to protect them) says they dont want to vote that way, so the rest of the group votes that person out instead. so dumb to not realize you're being helped out.  you bite the hand that feeds you when you come across as someone that won't work with the group.

Sol needs to hope for a tribe swap or that Lavo go on a winning streak.  He is good at recognizing bullshit, but doesn't know what to do with that info.  I'd like to see him find the next idol and get rid of Rome.

I finally watched the first episode.  "They didn't even cheer for me when I cracked open a coconut."  Lulz.

Why do they keep casting these losers?  Agree with the comment upthread, they need to go back to casting attractive/interesting people who've never watched the show.

No spoiler but, oddly this guy ends up completely turning it around.  Hell, he even sounds like the most logical player at the moment.

We'll have to see if that holds up over time, especially if Gata have to go back to tribal, but he does appear to have acclimated.

Makes me wonder if his meltdown occurred from him coming off meds.

Wow. Two tribes now failed to get rid of their biggest wildcards when they had the chance.

These people WAY overthink things.

you dont think kishan needed to go?  he was running the game.  brilliant move by genevieve.  she just moved to the top.

She’s running the game over there, got rid of Keyshawn, and set Rome up.

the challenge puzzle performance by Rome was the maybe the most catastrophic hilarious total fail ever.  Of course he spoke french about his performance …”WE” had a problem.  What a self absorbed moron.

You get rid of the wildcards when you have solid numbers to do so. That way they don't fuck you up later with their unpredictability.
