Uh. The Texans signed a very good safety in free agency. Ward is on the bench.

And both of them are only on the roster next year. At this point you really have to go with who you think is BPA; these dudes have like a 10% chance of making the roster…

Texans finish it off with Luke Lachey, TE, Iowa

Hey man, if we’re gonna draft a TE every year let’s at least take one from Iowa every other time…

Gardner-Johnson is signed through 2026

Some of these GMs truly blow my mind with their decisions. Only ONE OL in the whole draft? Graham Mertz who has like a 1% chance of even making the team?

So you are good going one deep at safety?  We know it isn't unreasonable to expect your secondary to go all 17 right?

No coverage drop off if they bring in Ward.

Same logic must apply to not taking another nickle because they spent all that money on Pitre.  If he is getting isolated and roasted and coverage just roll with it right?

The Texans needed to get younger and more athletic in the depth in the back end which they did in the draft.

They need help in the oline, but as has been seen more than once they needed depth in the secondary at corner and safety which they got and those players will also help out on special teams, but everyone should feel free to act as if Nick has no clue what he is doing building a roster.

Hell, go get Bond if he’s there.

No with those off the field issues.

When the entire NFL and last time I checked that includes the Chiefs who really don't give a shit what you do away from work so hell no, there might be some issues young Mr. Bond needs to address if he wants to play in the NFL.

Seems like the Lazy Eye checked out after Booker got drafted, and resolved to string together a bunch of singles. Probably the least exciting draft by a Houston playoff team in recent memory. Ersery is the only pick I liked but…can he play guard?

Understand where you're coming from but a few counterpoints:

- Ersery is a tackle, he had a great day against Penn State's Top 5 EDGE. Draft profile says he could play guard but there's still IOL available in FA. He's our new tackle.

- Did you see the WR corps we rolled out against KC and LAC? If Nico's the X, we just drafted our Y and Z starters for years to come, with Kirk there to allow them room to grow. And we replaced our KR.

Some other picks are just SWARM guys. We want what SF has, a very tough group who beats up on others. Whether that pans out who knows.

- Graham Maeetz is an A+ pussy. This one is no good.

I heard it live. Dude for sure came on the microphone. Said Woody was a better receiver than Blue. Just deeply shitty takes, but it’s 610.

I trust John Harris opinions and while he did said it was his belief that the kid from USC was the best receiving back in the draft what really was the reason why he loved the pick was the kids character and toughness. That last one is something I don't recall hearing frequently mentioned with Blue and that goes back to his days at Klein Cain.

Know someone in fact who was involved at the infamous track meet that set things in motion for Blue to skip his senior season.  They have nothing, but great things to say about Golden and not much to say about Blue. Not bad things, but they never felt Jayden was thinking about much beyond how things impacted himself.

Some can down vote me all you want, but ask yourself this, when Texas absolutely had to put the ball in the hands of a back to make a big play who was it? Who did Sark and the staff trust in the biggest moments?

Blue is a very fast running back with talent who averaged 9 carries a game this year and less than 50 yards a game.  This was the first year he ever totaled over 1,000 yards in total offense and that was in 15 games.   I know some wanted to compare him to Gibbs of Detroit, but the guy he reminds me the most is Michael Goodson. I saw both in high school and they were incredibly talented, but it always felt there was something missing.

As far as your comments on the rest of the draft, the OT from Minnesota most likely will get at look at guard. Tunsil did so his first year at Miami and said it was a great learning experience.  If the kid is one of their five best they will do it.  The two ISU receivers are very good and the slot receiver is important with Tank basically being gone for the year and most likely done with that injury.
