It's crazy how so much going wrong so early has seemingly given the democrats a chance. It Biden hadn't bombed, or if the debate hadn't been in july but september, this would be too late and disaster. But specifically because Trump pushed for an early debate, and specifically because he completely destroyed Biden in the debate to an incredible degree, he's now at his biggest risk of losing since 2020. Its good luck through bad circumstance. This has been the craziest election of my entire life.

Trump didn't destroy Biden in that debate. Biden was fine for most of it, but those early moments and a few other flubs on his side had everyone worried. Trump on the other land lied his ass off the whole time and came across almost as shitty as he did last night.

This.  Trump was just as bad in that debate, but Biden was godawful and sounded 800 years old. It didn't matter who was opposite Biden, that person was going to win the debate.

The democrats clearly won that debate, maybe not how you traditionally look at it, but look at them now as a result of that debate.

An AI chatbot is more authentic than Hillary.  That was part of the problem.

The people who made themselves believe that it would be a good idea to vote for Trump rather than Hillary - te bigger part of the problem.

I'd like these nitwits to:

Define Woke
Define DEI
Define Marxism
Define Socialism

Does it mean the government is going to take over my airline and my stolen pension gets reinstalled because I'm a federal employee now? Sign me the fuck up.

Definitions are academic.  They know what those things are without knowing what those things are.

That's creep AF.  What's his problem?

Kelce should challenge him to a celebrity MMA match with the  proceeds going to charity. And then beat the living fuck out of him. beat him into a fucking coma.....you know.....for charity. that would be fun.

You'd think the very clear fact that Trump so easily manipulated and controlled would be disqualifying to the fine folks at Tex Ags.  "He kept taking the bait, arrggh. But let's give him the nuke codes again."

wait....you're surprised the hivemind at Texags doesnt recognize someone being easily manipulated and  controlled?

I’ve heard of him but I’ve never met anyone who cares what he thinks or watches his show. Is it for old people?

He's a right wing nut from England that got thrown off the English shows so he came to America to be a nut job.

Getting into policy details is risky - especially if both parties aren't sharing details.  Any policy includes weighing a benefit against a cost.  The minute she shares details, the "airwaves" will be flooded with the trumplicans amplifying the cost and ignoring the benefit.  The difference, to me, is that I believe she has policy plans, and she is being smart about when & how to share those details.  I don't believe he has a plan (I also don't believe he'll have one "in two weeks" lol).

He got off too easy on killing the copartisan border bill.  He got off too easy on long disproven claims of winning the election.  He got off too easy on his plan to pardon Jan 6 insurrectionists.

I agree with others that maybe she had to chose her shots and not unload everything at once.  She skirted around saying this outright, but if he really cared about this country, you'd see a lot different behavior.  All his actions reinforce the fact that he only cares about himself.

Overall, I think she did amazing.  It's nearly impossible to win a debate with an opponent who isn't constrained by facts & reality, but she managed to do it.

Someone way earlier said not to take it to the bank, but they estimated 65 million.

Could be. I made a super fast tally of these numbers from Drudge:

Well, my quick math was bad. Looks like it's 56M+ here

Yeah, that doesn't even include any streaming data. I watched it on the Roku Channel, which was an ABC Feed. There's still Youtube TV...and I'm goessing none of those numbrs include streaming of those channels either.

My thoughts on the debate:

1. Kamala was way better than I thought she would be. I think the debate DEFINITELY got the Democrats fired up.

2. Trump had his Trump moments, but I thought he didn't look as good/polished as Kamala. Seemed more unprepared. Kamala let him ramble and I think it backfired.

3. It was very apparent that ABC was hitting Trump harder with follow-up questions/questioning his comments etc. Kamala said several things that they could have hit back on but they didn't. (Project 2025, Charlottesville; etc)

4. There is NO WAY undecided voters watch these debates and then make up their minds. Right?! These are just primetime shows done for entertainment value IMO. Our country is so divided I think 95% of people have made up their mind already.

The entire Bulwark article is worth a read: https://www.thebulwark.com/p/inside-trump-spin-room-from-hell-presidential-debate

I’ve started listening to Tim Miller’s podcast and his Trump mockery scratches an itch the Pod Save America boys just can’t quite get to.

Um, no.  They only followed up when he told a fucking ridiculous lie and even then only a couple of times.
