Longwood is not being streamed, but there is audio

ULL is ESPN+

That's some BS on the first game.    Sitting here in th home office and could use some Longhorn sports on TV.    Rado it is.

Longwood going with Erin Kirkland, who pitched 2 years at JUCO with a 4.86 ERA last year

Pitched earlier versus George Mason - 2 IP, 2 BB, 5 K

Do you think she cares?

Probably not. Now she’s probably looking at Tech scoring 3 runs in 2 games like “fuck, I thought I got away from a team that can’t hit the ball”

She pitched 3.2 in game 1, 8 today and will likely have to pitch the entirety against Nebraska and Bahl tomorrow.

Hopefully Goode can turn the corner on the non-elite pitching talk with more playing time.

Good to see her solid glove working as well.

I like her night time sport glasses

Not watching but how is Tegan looking?

Sounds like defense is better early on

She looks good. Got squeezed a couple times but very effective

Baylor up 5-1 on aggy

They are kinda nothing without Kennedy pitching. She’s going to have to Canady them

aggy came back to win that one 10-7

Here's the Texas highlights from todays game for those who couldn't watch on ESPN+

Goode can produce just as good as Vivi against non-elite pitching. case and point.

She has a long swing with some bat drag, but gets away with it against pitchers that don't have the elite level velo/spin combo. Bat drag tends to make you late against good velo, so you have to subconsciously commit earlier, which then makes you susceptible to anything that's not a fastball.  And it's not a matter of just learning to layoff or getting better vision.  It's a mechanical issue.  I'm a little surprised it hasn't been cleaned up in college, especially in today's world where there is so much emphasis on hitting mechanics.

To illustrate, here's a swing from her last night.  It's an outside pitch, where everyone tends to get a little draggy, but notice how her back elbow slides far forward of her back hip and comes almost completely under her top elbow, with the bat dragging behind. These are not great mechanics.

Reese has much better mechanics. Great connection between elbow and back hip here.
