Mia brings in a run, but of course, a run-down costs us a 5th run

More Ringling Bros baserunning.

Okay but that throw was nails to the plate.

And almost some Ringling Bros in the OF between Maloney and Stewie.  You can tell some confusion - Maloney is usually in RF and Stewie in LF.

Missing Henry.

My money would have been on Maloney getting put on her butt

Nothing against Bennett, but it's a shame we were forced to move Goode to SS. Vivi's loss was major.

Evergreen post all season long  :(

But the good news is we get an extra year of Vivi!

When it comes to TK White gives me Vic vibes as far as just running her into the ground at times

She only threw 3 innings / 44 pitches prior to this game, yesterday

4-2 Texas to the 7th

TK's really solid. Unfortunately, once there's any disruption of her rhythm, she can quickly get into trouble with the long ball. Let's get a few more runs and remove any remaining drama.

I'd let our ace close it out

Yeah, I said it - our ace

Citlaly Gutierrez, Pitcher, Texas Longhorns - NIL Profile ...

Cit's been really good. I know not everyone has faith in her, but she's produced. That big win over OU in Austin last year showed she can do clutch things.

I’ve always said she is out beast pitcher she’s just so inconsistent. But when she’s on, she’s one of the best in the country

Texas wins 4-2 over a currently top 30 RPI opponent.

On to Gainesville!

aggy won 3-2 then lost 12-4 and 4-2 over the weekend in College Station to the Gators.

She had a rough sophomore slump but still picked up some big wins last year. Just wasn’t the Cit from her freshman year

Same with TK.  Same with SS.  Starting to see a pattern.  Part of that is more tape for the opponents.  I'm also starting to wonder if it's a MW thing or just general sophomore slump.

26-1 matches best program start (2006)

Mia got her 48th double, now tied for 2nd and 7 behind Janae Jefferson

Cit’s save ties her now for 1st all time at Texas with 7

Reese got RBI 172 and 173 of her career against Dayton, now 5 back of Thom’s program career record 178

Really need Salmon to continue to progress.   Will need her during the journey.

I wish Mike would give some insight into the conference series plans re: pitching

TK, Cit, TK? With Mac and Cam in relief?  Or TK, Cit and Cam/Mac tandem on Sundays?

Does Cam get a start somewhere in these weekend series against SEC teams?  Is Mac solely going to be a relief pitcher once we hit SEC play?  Is Cit's best role out of the 'pen to close out a game where we need 6-9 outs?

We have 8 SEC series (24 games) - TK pitching 2 games per series could potentially add up to 112 innings (7 IP x 2 games x 8 series), not counting TXST or OKST midweek games. Of course she won't pitch 14 innings per weekend, but she only pitched 130.2 IP last year and is already almost halfway there without even touching SEC play

Think it will be TK, Cam, if we win the first two then Mac.   Cit looks to be the bullpen arm of the year.   Which I don't mind she seems to be well suited for it, that ball be dancing.

I want TK, Mac, TK for SEC series.
Citlaly would ideally come in for the 6th and 7th innings to close out games. If shit goes sideways in earlier innings Citlaly can come in for relief earlier or Cam 🍣 can get some work.

I, too, have a lot of partiality for Mac because her groundouts gives you a better chance for an out than someone hitting it out.

Texas was 15th in RPI this week, but the competition we had (before yesterday) dragged us down.  OU went from 26 to 13 in one weekend after playing an SEC series, so I do expect just playing Florida will be a big boost.  Plus it didn't factor in Ohio State (RPI 29)

I wouldn't be shocked to see Ohio State finish in the top 4/5 of the B1G - Oregon, UCLA, Ohio State/Indiana/Nebraska
