Obviously you are correct. But you have been around here long enough to understand that, very much unlike aggy, we do not get our identity from the company we keep.

Outside of Aggy, we get our identity from our own programs.  But we damn sure know that when we keep banging the drum of ‘the SEC is better at everything’, we do get some traction from the stupid national press and voters, and our member institutions usually get an admittedly unfair bump in polls and bowls and such because of that.   Now you do too, which is a benefit in the odd down year.  I never mind anything that will benefit my program, so as long as I don’t take it to heart too much (like Aggy) it’s not a bad strategy.

And aggy keeps trying to claim that we followed them to the SEC, as though we are here because they are. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Every knows that nothing could be further from the truth man. The conference thinks Aggy is weird and annoying.

More than a few of us are still, to some extent, surprised at how this all came about and will take some time to adjust.

That was a sea-change with short notice. Good point

Not to mention that just about the entire SEC world holds some level of resentment towards us for being here. Not exactly a "make yourself an home" kind of scenario, huh?

I have to tell you, I don’t see that at all.  As a Florida grad who lives in Louisiana, I speak to all kinds of SEC fans every day, and everybody was pretty happy to see you guys join, although kicking out Aggy and Mizzou comes up in convo.

But, we are used to being hated and the SEC is only an address (though, an upgraded neighborhood, sure).

Without a welcoming committee to greet us, we're still trying to figure out who we like. We know a lot of folks we don't. I'm generally inclined to like and respect Florida as a peer, so don't go fucking that up, huh ace?

Welcoming committee? Now that is a gen-u-ine Texas comment.   lol   You got the exact same welcoming committee that Aggie and piggy and Mizzou in South Carolina got.

A sort of universal perception about Texas is that it’s arrogant, think it has a birthright to greatness in every sport no matter how they’re doing that year or what is reasonable to expect, and is generally disdainful of  most of their conference brethren programs.   A huge chip on your shoulder in a belief that everyone is out to get you and treating you unfairly also comes with that scouting report.

To which I say - shit, all those things means that you fit in the SEC perfectly. 😂

Trashmaster, we are psyched to have you join, not negative about it (Aggy excepted).   i’m also pretty damn certain that whether or not Florida is widely liked and respected as a peer in either sports or academics does not rise or fall with your opinion.  So I’ll risk this reply.  Fingers crossed you get the 14th SEC-bid because of that stupid SEC-SEC  Conference strength.  I think you deserve it on your quad one record alone, but don’t look down on the conference strength affiliation if that is the thing that makes you fall off the fence into the Dance.

No idea who will start, but whoever it is sat in the dugout for 2 games and watched every Florida batter to prepare

Plus a day off yesterday for film

Cam? Cit?

This is a very unusual OU team for Patty to be undefeated so far

Their 6 conf games so far:

10-7
6-4
7-0
2-1
10-9
10-9

Three 1-run games (at home) and 2 more wins by 2 and 3 runs.

I don't know how soon they will take a loss, but they play @ Mizzou, Tenn, @ Bama, MSST, Texas, @ Florida.  And they have a midweek against OKST and 2 games against UCF

Florida should start Olivia Miller - she pitched 4.1 innings against us across both games and only gave up 1 ER.  She was the most effective, but we'd be seeing her a 3rd time.

Let Cam have the ball tonight, with Cit ready to relieve her.

Because of the day off yesterday I think TK gets the nod again. Load management is an afterthought it seems

I do fear you're right, and I'd be very mad about it.

TK 8.2 IP (1 ER)
Mac 5.0 IP (0 ER, thanks Goode and Henry)
Cit 0.1 IP (2 ER)

Cam needs the experience.  We already won the series.  If she gets in trouble, Cit or TK can come in.

TK did get "better" the second time she saw them - 4.2 IP, 6 hits, 2 R / 1 ER, 5 K, 2 BB and then 4.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R / 0 ER, 3 K, 0 BB
