Texas Softball 2025 - Sick of Being Second Place

Well that should be about it.  Their pitching outperformed our pitching.....and their hitting did the same.

Hopefully they can find something not being in the #1 spot and taking the pressure off.   This ain't gonna cut it.

Like I’ve stated before I know numbers say one thing but this team has holes. Had no idea where ppl were getting “this is the best team in the Mike White era” from .

Good thing about this is so do most teams. No one is the Oklahoma of past seasons

We really miss Vivi, Bella, and Czech.  Although we are a great hitting team, one thing we do not seem to do well is make adjustments as the game goes on.  We seem to be either on or off that day.

Pitching wise, we've beaten the TK thing to death, but I still think we are riding her too much.  The lack of pitching depth has really shocked me this year.

We should have taken Canady in the portal when we had a chance.  We needed another solid pitcher other than TK.

That implies we had a choice and said no. She was only looking for the bag, I don’t care what Mike said preseason about her.

We struggle against elite pitching because our approach doesn't change.   We have to get more selective and draw walks.   Tennessee forced Kavan to throw strikes.

Yep. Stop swinging in 1-0 counts. Like god damn

Aside from Bennett we have a team of power hitters. It works out well against average pitching staffs, but when a pitcher like Pickens can throw gas, you have to adjust and shorten up your swing. I had a feeling we wouldn’t be able to do that

And that’s fair. We no longer control our own destiny to win the SEC. Aggy does

Yep. They swept LSU, so they should be #1

And hopefully we are pissed off next weekend and LSU is feeling bad about themselves. Bc we could use a sweep too

Agree on not changing our approach. Thought that Mike and Singleton should’ve went to the short game and put more pressure on their D. Slappers should have been bunting and middle of the order needed to shorten up and put the ball in play.

That’s what I said, and yet I knew we wouldn’t change our approach. Maybe our power hitters aren’t capable of shortening up their swing. Atwood was the only player who ran into one all weekend against Pickens but with a big swing vs. a 75mph fastball from that range there just isn’t enough reaction time available to power hit without guessing on most pitches
