Todays game….low block on defensive player??    can someone explain what happened…… to me a Texas lb’er went low on Fl pulling guard….. can you not “wreck the puller” anymore?     Oline can cut but defensive players cant?

no, you can't dive low at a pulling lineman. It was the correct call.

Yeah, that was the correct call. Sorrell’s roughing the passer was too (shades of Killebrew). They picked up what would have been a bullshit hold on Blue’s long catch.

The only really bad call was the no call PI on the one deep ball Arch threw (I think to Wingo?) in his first series.

i kinda disagree.  the play where we had the roughing the passer called on us also had the FL WR holding the ever living fuck out of our DB on the edge, so much so that when our guy turned around to try and tackle the RB, our DB couldnt turn his body around because both his arms were being held by the fucking receiver.... and it was directly on the edge and exactly where the RB ran through to get another 5 yards before we tackled him and then got the tacked on 15.

that should have been offsetting. it was literally a 40 yard field position miss by the refs.

Fuck blOU but absolutely insane this wasn't reviewed for targeting

Not defenseless and didn't hit him with the crown

I think shoulder to the head/neck area is targeting too. Doesn’t have to be crown of the helmet to be targeting.

What the hell were they discussing on the fair catch interference? I feel like that was targeting.

the refs made an attempt to try and kick that player out without actually kicking him out... no idea why they just didnt fucking rule him ejected for unsportsmanlike

instead they decided to call it targeting.... which it clearly WAS NOT targeting, hell the defender led with his shoulder into Bolden's gut.

It was absolutely targeting. Leading with his head against a defenseless player. Doesn't have to hit in the head or neck area if it satisfies those conditions.

Disregard.

Yeah, if they're really interested in player safety, then taking a free full-speed shot at a punt returner who is standing still and looking up into the sky - that ought to get you ejected along with 15 yards and a 1-game (or more) suspension.

Sometimes I feel kind of bad for a defender who gets ejected for "targeting" when they're running up to make a play on a QB who's either already getting tackled or is about to slide.  A lot of it comes down to guessing if the runner is going to slide head-first, feet-first, or not at all... and if the defender guesses wrong, they get ejected plus they have to sit out another half.  I've seen several "targeting" collisions that seem like bad luck as much as malicious intent.

Contrast that to sprinting 45 yards toward a defenseless guy standing straight up.

Unspeakably horrendous officiating in the CU-Texas Tech game. McGuire called out the biased refs by name postgame and will likely be fined by the Big 12.

Thank god they picked up the holding on Bond flag but fuck that ref for “guessing” that Bond must have held on that play. If you’re not 100% sure don’t throw the flag. That was a textbook block by a receiver.

Pancake block by Majors

they call it holding

Makes you wonder how well orchestrated some of this stuff is when they don’t even show a replay.

...was pointing to a defender for protections. Which you can do once you're in your stance

TE on the left side of the formation did move, but how knows if thats what was seen/called

this officiating is just awful in our game

i know the game was all-but over, but this was the major headscratcher for me

you tip the pass and tackle him at the same moment and thats a ROUGHING THE PASSER???

I thought in that situation on the same move that the "punter protection" rules apply... i.e. tipped kick means you can run into the punter.

htf is a player supposed to not hit a qb when he jumps up to deflect a pass and then immediately touches the qb in the arms?

It is a good thing our D is as good as it is.  This bullshit from the SEC corrupt refs could cost us a game if they weren't.

3 DPI's

phantom holding - it appears when an opponent of ours falls to the ground it is holding but never works in reverss.

refs TOTALLY blow the call on Alabama in favor of OU on that touchdown

normally I’d hate to see OU get a call in their favor

but in this one rare exception

AH HAHAHAHA

Even the Big 12 Chinaman ref thought it was a shitty call.

I think they called it for Simmons hitting him in the head a little during his follow through.

And apparently the facemask to facemask that taffe did earlier in the game was worth bringing back up in that moment as well.
