ESPN+ is a hurdle? Lol

I think it was the first time a Texas football game has been on ESPN+ … ESPN made a lot of money today

Maybe. But it seems likely most people already have the SEC Network and can use provider credentials to watch the SEC+ games.

Dave Aranda thinks Sonny Dykes is a fraud.

I feel like there were some “Sonny Dykes > Sarkisian” takes around here not so long ago. I wonder if that’s been sorted out by now.

Has more to do with losing the roster he inherited imo.

And I'm not sure they've put a great NIL program in place.

This why they want to end the series.

Sonny can’t win without Patterson’s players.  TCU is getting everything they deserve for firing him.

Patterson hated what CFB was becoming with NIL and the portal, and hasn’t been shy about expressing it. And his last few seasons at TCU were kinda rough.

Having said that, Dykes seems good at using the portal to bring in talent but (1) doesn’t seem to know how to build a culture and (2) can’t seem to get on a consistent page with his coordinators in terms of playcalling.

Patterson’s teams always seemed to play with a chip on their shoulder and rise to their competition. That’s not happening now.

What is this based on? Dykes mostly brings in former highly rated guys who’ve shown they suck at the college level. Their roster sucks.

In 2021, Patterson was openly telling TCU boosters that they needed to pay up, or other schools were going to take their best players away. After his experience at UT, I got the idea that Patterson doesn’t dislike what college football has become as much as he doesn’t want to run a program that is at a disadvantage (not enough money) in the modern game.

Six Win Sonny making a CFB championship game will go down as one of the luckiest, most mystifying single season runs of all time.

Remember when Max Duggan was the Heisman runner up?

To be fair Patterson could no longer win with Patterson's players

Yeah. SMU has more talent and it was evident Saturday.
