The Joe Pesci Show was greatness

I heard about that on the podcast, but haven't seen it. He said someone stole his idea afrer looking at his board where they write their sketches, and he went ape shit after the show. He said that was the only he ever lost his shit. I need to check that Pesci skit out.

Beat me to it. My favorite episode is when Colin Quinn is playing Robert Deniro, and the real Joe Pesci and Robert Deniro appear on the show unexpectedly, brandishing baseball bats. Classic stuff.

He seems like kind of a badass. It sounds like Sarkisian’s take on the culture he wants to build is really solidifying. It was cool seeing him in that Ewers video, too.

It makes me smile when Texas kicks ass on the field, but even apart from that it makes me smile that guys like this are wearing the burnt orange and white.

The other day I learned he was a cast member on SNL when he was on Joe Rogan's podcast. I was like what? I don't remember him on there. Apparently he was on there from 95-98.

You don’t remember Goat Boy?  That was his single biggest claim to fame.

Looking at the Mississippi State injury list, they are also going to be without the starting RB and one of the main WR's.

On defense it looks like several DL and DB's that are either starters or in the rotation are also out.

if gata can put 40+ on them, if the over is 60 I’d take it

Hot Take:

Sit Ewers and play Manning.

We need Ewers at 100% or close against OU and UGA.  You don't risk that playing him against MSU, even if he thinks he's ready to go.

You play for OU and UGA (not "looking ahead" in the sense we usually use that phrase; just good strategy with an injury).

That’s not a hot take. It’s common sense

I don’t know “Hondo,” but I’m certain his labeling it a “Hot take” was his way of saying, “I know this isn’t an original idea, but fuck it, this is a message board and I’d like to venture an opinion…”

Regarding game week updates, I suspect the SEC injury report will be out at 7pm central, so perhaps we’ll get some clarity regarding Ewers. Sarkisian said they won’t be coy.

I think the issue is semantics over what "healthy" means. I would imagine the vast majority of college football players regularly play under 100%. So yeah, play him if he's 95%, don't if he's 80%. He's probably somewhere in between which is why this isn't cut and dry.

Game time decision per KXAN.

Quote

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers will be a game-time decision for the Longhorns’ first Southeastern Conference game Saturday against Mississippi State.

The latest SEC injury report said he’s still questionable as of Friday night, meaning the final decision on his status will come 90 minutes before kickoff, scheduled for 3:15 p.m.

You take that back. That stupid hack doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Forte.

I wouldn't call Breuer a hack. He can be a little one-note but he has some great stand up bits.

Hey gamblers.

Texas at -37 and the o/u is 59. That’s 22 points for state with a freshman qb that sucks, while Texas has given up 22 points all year? What do yall say on that? Seems like o/u should be in the 40s.

You're doing the math wrong.  That line is predicting a 48-11 game.

If this is how you do math, it might be time to take a long, hard look in the mirror.

Yup. You start your starting QB if he's healthy. Don't overthink that side of it.
