2024-2025 Houston Rockets thread - Prepare for Liftoff 🚀

Went last night.  Shit was empty in a lot of the upper deck.  People got to start getting on board with this team.

Pretty slow start by both teams, but the Rockets blew it up.  Got to see Carlisle lose his shit a few times which is always good times.

Pacers have a blonde assistant coach woman who is 50 yrs old that I would dick down.

I think that may be the first team in the history of the NBA to start a Longhorn and Aggie at same time.  (Unless Deandre Jordan ever started with KD in Brooklyn....probably missing some others, but I don't think it happens often)

The progress we all hoped for when they started allowing lady coaches in men’s sports.

so i don't even know how much i care about the nba cup but it feels like the Rockets are going to be guaranteed to win their group if they win one more game thanks to their massive lead in point differential:

Am I reading this right? They play against Portland twice in a row as a back to back?

It's nice that it's at home, but I don't think I have ever seen that before. Just an unusual schedule choice.

We did it earlier this season with @SA. It's the NBA's stupid way of cutting down on traveling.

Yeah I see that, but there was 1 day rest between the SA games. A back to back in the same city with the same opponent is odd.

I think it's good to cut down on traveling, but it would be a lot smarter to designate a "home week" of hosting 3-4 games, and an "Away week" of travel if they want to do that. The Spurs get to do 3 weeks of away games during their Rodeo Road trip, I'm sure other teams could plan something similar to help balance the schedule.

If the Rockets lose to Minnesota and beat Sacramento and Minnesota wins their other game Minnesota would win the group regardless of point differential. The other 3 teams are all fucked if Houston wins another and they will clinch if they beat Minnesota. With all that said I really think the gimmick is dumb

Jabari just punked Gobert

Jabari playing like the 3rd pick in the draft offensively and defensively. Dillon and FVV have also had great 1st halves.

didn't tune in until the last few minutes, but was planning on mentioning how Jabari had a very nice end to the half.  Glad to see it was more than even that.

Another shitty game for Jalen Green, the slump continues, and the Rockets fall in love with the 3 point line. Starting 12-22, then going 2-12 as the Timberwolves come back to take the lead.

Tied up with  28 seconds to go.

What a move by Sengun, Rockets up 4 in OT.

11-0 run as the Rockets take command in OT, stopped settling for 3's and attack Gobert in the paint.

What a gutsy, playoff type win on the road. The way the Rockets closed out that game on both ends of the court was a thing of beauty. All that is missing is consistent production from the 2.

That was a fun game to watch.

it was even from the losing end.

dilly was the spark  plug and Finch tucked his balls in OT instead of playing the rookie who was +28. instead Jaden Mcdaniels missed about 8 shots.

Well I guess if you have to play back to backs on the road in different cities then going to Philly with Embiid, George, & Lowery out is about the best draw you can get in 2024-25.
