They have also done a lot of improvements to their facilities.  I went to see Texas play them a long time ago and it was like a high school stadium.

RE: Post your GIF reaction if Utah wins the draft lottery tomorrow

He has  a career losing record as a college coach. As it was entirely at Rutgers, I'll give him some extra credit, but better than average coach is about as far as I'll go.

I’m not saying he is the second coming of Pop Warner but, the two coaches who preceded him at Rutgers are a combined 19-76.

Schiano has led Rutgers to eight bowl games. Since 1869 Rutgers has only been to four others.

.500 at Rutgers over 16* seasons is honestly fairly impressive.

again, I don't think he's horrible, maybe you and I just have a different definition of what a "good football coach" is. Among other things, mine requires them to have a career winning % of greater than .500.

Rutgers all-time winning percentage is .493. Schiano's record there was .489. Yeah, he's probably one of their better coaches, but I've never really gotten the Schiano mystique.

I'm not grading the dude as some really good college coach. Just think he's at least average and potentially a bit better.

So, hypothetically speaking, let’s suppose a coach takes over a moribund program and in his first year they go 0-12. The next year they go 4-8. In year three they go 8-4 and in his fourth year, when he has all his players in place, they go 12-0. His record is .500 and you would say he’s at best a better-than-average coach? Not a “good football coach?”

That was my point in mentioning that his predecessors were 19-76. He’s twice had to fix up a mess.
