OKC loses Chet and still scored 134 points.

They actually don't lose much scoring with him out.  Everyone on that roster can shoot and score at this point.  They can replace him with a wing who can get after it defensively and still score.  They lose shot blocking and rebounding.  When Hartenstein comes back, he'll bring the rebounding and passing.  With him, they'll still be a solid playoff seed and if Chet can come back in March (or whatever) and be up to speed by playoff time, they'll still be a player.

Guessing that Klay hoped he'd be doing a little better than 13.8/3.7/2.0 on 42%/35% shooting for his return to the Chase Center.

But he's still going to get the loudest applause for a first quarter basket tonight than any opponent ever.

The overreaction here on an all time classic slick move is wild

JB also seems to have the sense of humor of a pretzel so

Dude just got punched in the head.  You wouldn't think that shit was too funny either.

Never mind Giannis coming down under Tatum AGAIN.  Fuck Giannis' bitch ass.  I hope he ends up in Charlotte.

The IST is upon us!

Remember the In-Season Tournament from last season? Those courts that assaulted the rods and cones in your eyes, and the format the players still didn’t seem to understand until we got to single elimination? Well, it’s back, it starts Tuesday, and it has a cool new name — The NBA Cup!

So, when exactly is the NBA Cup? Every Tuesday and Friday between Nov. 12 and Dec. 3 will be the NBA Cup Group Play action. You’ll know it’s an NBA Cup night by the special courts we’re seeing just for these games. To break it down completely, it’s the next four Tuesdays and the next three Fridays. Then, we’ll have the tournament portion of the NBA Cup happening Dec. 10 and 11.

The NBA Cup heads to Las Vegas again on Dec. 14 with the NBA Cup championship on Dec. 17. Oh, just a reminder the NBA Cup champ gets a banner and a trophy, and each player on the roster grabs $500,000 for winning it all.

And how does it work? We have six groups of five teams each. Three groups in the East. Three groups in the West. Each team will play four games within their group. The winner of each group will advance, as well as one wild card team from each conference. Tiebreakers will depend on head-to-head within group play and point differential as the first two. So, when you see teams running up the score at the end of these group play games, it’s actually what you’re supposed to do.

What are the groups again? I’m so glad you asked!

I remember when he broke Kyrie Irving's ankle to win a championship. That was dope.

Coach killa

HOT: Bucks’ anonymous player revealed that assistant coach Darvin Ham was the behind-the-scenes target of Giannis Antetokounmpo's fury following their humiliating loss to the "lowly" New York Knicks.

Reportedly, Giannis sent a forceful request to Bucks management demanding Ham’s dismissal, blaming him for the disastrous, “ridiculous” tactics he advised coach Doc Rivers on that have derailed the team. Sources even say Ham is banned from entering the Bucks' locker room until he receives his termination notice.

Drama is brewing in Milwaukee!

Previous coach that Giannis got fired was 31-12 with a solid 2 seed. Things have been pretty shit since then and now they are heading for the lottery with the chance they don’t get their pick.

It’s why you don’t let players run the team.

Well, they already signed Van Fleet, who is generously listed at 6'0".  (I wouldn't have done that.)  That being considered, I wouldn't have draft a "SG" that is generously listed at 6'2".  With both of them being that small, you basically can't play them at the same time.  Also, a 6'2" SG isn't a thing.  If there is a good one out there, I could be missing it.

Basically, the guy the took at #3 can't be on the floor at the same time as they guy they just signed to be the starting PG.  Oh, wait, they signed that undersized PG for 3 years and $130M.  Lulz.

I know it was a weak draft but I would have taken anyone else but him.

I was at the game against the Wizards on Monday and FVV was out.  That made them a much bigger team.

Amen/JG/D Brooks/T Eason all go 6'6-6'8.  Add in Jabari/Sengun/Steven Fucking Adams and say what you want about Houston but they aren't small.  Also the Wiz suck.

Catching up on scores from last night.

Minny losing by 14 to the Blazers is awful.

They have some serious shit to figure out. So do the Knicks, I guess. So far that trade has made both teams worse which is maybe understandable this early into the season.

I like this version of KAT. Maximum efficiency on offense, complete and utter disaster on defense.

Man this LeBron dick sucking sesh on ESPN is wild.

Saying "the older he gets, the more efficient he gets on offense" is fucking laughable.

Then they flash that he's scored or assisted on 31 of their 55 so far.

So like half their points? Okay.

another wolves disasterclass getting shat on by Shaedon Sharp and the Blazers.

DonteD has been historically awful this early in the season. 2 games so far where hes shot at least 50% from 3. the rest are terrible and far below what he averaged last year.

Randles been about what I suspect- avg->bad 4 out of 5 games with 1 good one sprinkled in. FInch doesnt have the balls to put in the 9-12 guys to send a message to the veterans who are playing like idiots.

lebron is unreal. nothing more to be said.

Yeah no shit we all know that.

Between what he's doing not being anywhere near sustainable and seeing his kid on the bench I'm not exactly pro-LeBron this season.

Bronny should have gotten 3-4 years in college to enjoy his life and find himself.

Instead - his dad forced him on to the team to set some first that you'd have to be a monkey to care about and is now preening around on a crappy Lakers team.

Yes it's amazing that he's this good at basketball at 40. It's frankly unbelievable.

The fashion in which he's doing it is fucking lame and, well, I guess it's the most LeBron thing ever.

Opponents are shooting 32/34 against him in the paint.  Is that bad?  Or sublime?

I'm probably deriving too much pleasure from James Harden being stuck in what amounts to NBA purgatory. On the Clippers. Waiting for Kawhi Leonard to return from injury. Having the kind of high usage, inefficient season that would make Russ blush (36%/31% shooting, 5 turnovers a game). Team is just barely good enough that he has no choice but to keep jacking up bricks.

Meanwhile Jokic humming along at 30/14/12 with shooting splits of 56/56(!)/84

Not sure I remember a time that the gap between the first and second best (Luka maybe?) players in the league was this big. Even apex LeBron had KD and Steph at least in the same ballpark.

Jokic reached LeBron levels of "so consistently amazing, it's boring" years ago and has only gotten better.

If he can somehow drag a (generously) 6 deep team to a decent seeding, he's still the dude you'd least like to see in a playoff series.

I can remember guys leading the league in Pts/Ast or Pts/Reb, but I'm not sure I can remember a guy leading the league in Reb/Ast. Oh and top 5 in scoring to boot. F'n monster season so far.

As much as I personally like Steven Adams and that fan base loves him, that's not going to happen.  He just doesn't fit that roster or system anymore.

Right, it's not even close. Wasn't that my point? Or is your argument that Luka isn't the 2nd best player in the league? Because I wouldn't fight you on that...was just throwing out a name.

Uh, yes.  The part of your post that I highlighted is what I was arguing against.
