A few months after extending hm until 2027 and 16 months after he won coach of the year.

Apparently he was fired on the way to the plane.

Like all the other NBA coaches calling the Kings cowards and how badly this was done

Players like him, only want free agency and drama. So he wants the fans to give more of a damn than he does. He's the one who ran to GS for his legacy. Had drama with Draymond. Then ran to Brooklyn. And when that drama didn't work he ran to Phoenix.

And how many times have his coworkers just taken games off to show the regular season doesn't matter to them? But the fans should care..GTFOH

Lakers finally dump D'Angelo Russell.   Get a pretty good player in Finney Smith

Quote

Dec. 29: Lakers acquire Finney-Smith, Milton; Russell to Nets

Los Angeles Lakers get:
Dorian Finney-Smith
Shake Milton

Brooklyn Nets get:
D'Angelo Russell
Maxwell Lewis
Three future second-round picks

Lakers coach JJ Redick has preached positional versatility and toughness in his roster -- attributes the franchise's new addition should help with. Los Angeles also creates salary and luxury tax flexibility, saving a total of $15 million and moving $3.5 million below the second apron. Finney-Smith has a $15.4 million player option for next season.

The Nets acquire draft capital and cleaner salaries moving forward, including Russell's expiring deal. Brooklyn now has 31 draft picks in the next seven years -- 15 first-rounders and 16 second-rounders -- to go along with over $60 million in cap space in the offseason.

Seems like a good trade for both sides. Getting below the second apron is very important now with all the trade restrictions.

Jokic with 36/23/10 tonight. Dude still amazes me regularly.
Something you dont see every day....i think may be like 16th time in NBA history:

Teammates with triple double in same game....Jokic and Russ

Jokic is actually part of the 15th time it was done also.

Cleveland was up 8 at the break, currently up 23 min 4:15 into the 3rd qtr. on pace for 60 pointer. i think 6 3's have been made

7th straight win, all by double digits.  Will be tough to get the 8th in a row tomorrow on the 2nd night of a back to back at Lebron.

Meanwhile, Golden State has now lost 13 of their last 17.  Their pieces just not meshing well at all.

GSW started out so well too.   I was really surprised by their start their current level is what I was expecting all along.  Wonder what kind of changes they make.

The Wiseman pick was the beginning of the end.  That and age; Father Time seems to be creeping up faster on Curry than on Lebron.

no love for Larry Hughes?

Hughes came to the team a few years after Lebron and was the big FA signing during the first Lebron years.  *facepalm*

The Cavs had pursued Ray Allen and Michael Redd (either would have been great fits next Lebron) but they said no thanks so Hughes was the (shitty) consolation prize who couldn't shoot and consistently mucked up the lane for Lebron.

I could (and have) written much more about the 03-10 Cavs but the Hughes signing is a good microcosm.

Pretty even match between MN and OKC.  MIN led  a good majority of the game including winning the points in3 of the 4 qtrs. OKC went absolutely bonkers in the third for about 8 min. Erased a 12 pt deficit and was almost instantly up 16. MIN cut it to 3 late in the 4th but couldnt complete the comeback.

Not sure what they'll do with Chet and Ihart when he comes back. OKC is still incredibly small with a couple NFL linebackers being their PF in JDub and Dort. SGA is an incredible talent tho. any mid range off balanced 2 is a swish. and hes so slippery getting to the rim and finishing with ease.

When Chet is back, they'll play him alongside Hart a lot.  Lineup will be Hart, Chet, J Dub, Dort/Wallace, and Shai.  Good luck with that.

They do run pretty deep, though, and rotate a lot of different lineups.  Caruso will get a lot of playing time in the rotation one way or another. Defensively, they're a nightmare, especially with Caruso and Chet who weren't even there tonight and they still ate Minny alive with steals and TO's.  Chet is walking now without a crutch I suspect he'll be back by late Feb.

of course they eat everybody alive. When they pressure they put both hands on the ball handler and never get whistled for it even though we're taught that in Jr High you cant put hands on the ball handler.

Divincenzo and Wallace or Wiggins were holding hands at one point. Like what?

Man the Suns are a fucking train wreck. At some point you need to get as many picks as you can for KD and Book.

Booker is so clearly at this point not a franchise player. He can't out produce a 36 y/o Durant. Phoenix is never going to do anything with that dude as the "cornerstone".

And their draft pick situation the rest of the decade is pretty fucking dire.

Dan Gilbert right now:
