Perk thinking Texas has his back or claims him is hysterical. Chuck is at worst a top 50 dude of all time.

Steph is 13-1 in his career, college and pro, at MSG. That one loss was his coming out party in 2013 when he scored 54 points on 11 threes.

Not sure if that's a testament to how great Steph has been under bright lights...or how shitty the Knicks have been for two decades. Probably the latter.

I'm just ready for the playoffs.

Too much shit talking and projecting.

Let's fucking see it.

Y'all like the Lakers? You think OKC is soft? You think GS is making a run? You think Memphis isn't about it?

God damn my body is ready.

Can someone tell Kendrick that there is no one who cares that he is from Beaumont. He is not a tough guy and was a spare as a player for most of his career. Seeing him talk tough would be like seeing Chris Bosh act like he has some hood cred because he was able to drive from the Hutch area to go to school in South Dallas at Lincoln.

As if his most viral moments aren't him talking shit about the Lakers, dude is as guilty as anyone. Stop pretending you watch the Cavs and OKC Chuck.

I don’t think he watches anyone play.

The West seeding is kind of fascinating right now - and it's looking like OKC's stranglehold on the 1 seed could prove absolutely massive. I would argue that GS and MIN are both more dangerous than Memphis or Houston - BUT it is rather unlikely that Memphis falls out of the 4 spot.
It is somewhat likely that Houston could get caught by the Warriors or Wolves - but for now - let's just imagine that 1-8 stays the way it is.
OKC would get the Clippers in round 1, then the MEM/HOU winner in round 2. Meanwhile - Denver and LA get either GS or Minny and in round 2 have to play whoever wins the opposite series. That's a HUGE fucking difference.
If I'm Denver or LA I'm praying that Houston falls out of the 5 to send GS to the opposite side of the bracket - and then, I think I might consider jockeying to avoid Minny in the 1st round (or vice-versa).
Regardless - it seems to be setting up for some absolutely money first round matchups. Imagine Lakers/Ws and Nuggets/Wolves in the FIRST ROUND.

We'll also see who stays healthy. An injury or two could turn all of this upside down.

I didn’t know Jaren Jackson jr had a grade 2 ankle sprain so he may miss most of the regular season. Memphis might get caught too. We have a pretty favorable schedule coming up with home games vs Nola and Utah. Problem is we play down to our competition so they’ll be competitive

You better get off Hutch 😅 Lancaster dude here and I know plenty of dudes from WH that would wipe the floor with Kendrick. Pretty much all of them actually.

Lancaster was some good memories for me. They have had Coach Doug aka “Coach Snoop” for almost two decades. Years ago I volunteered as a basketball coach and the first year I went to Lancaster to scout Hutch because they were a district opponent for us. Hutch got roasted as I recollect, but they were tough.

I would also posit most of the women from Hutch would wipe the floor with Perkins.

Good watch with Pistons Warriors tonight. Came down to the wire and the deciding shot was a three from.... Checks notes... Draymond Green? Detroit is a fun team. I love Cade and honestly think he has league MVP upside but he needs to tighten the handle to take the next step. 9 TOs including a brutal couple in crunch time.

well that went Den/OKC game went from promising to shit.

a westbrook disasterclass. Think jokic injured his elbow and it showed the entire game. Denvers gonna have to start load managing him here soon

The one bench guy on Denver who gets consistent minutes...lol.

And we all just know that there will be at least one playoff game (maybe two) that Westbrook will single-handedly lose.  It's inevitable.

I'll be very surprised if OKC is pushed to six games in any playoff series before the Finals.

None of the other teams in the West have a prayer of winning a 7 game series.

Same.  I know that most coaches tighten up the rotation in the playoffs but they go a legit 10 team with 7 of them basically mostly interchangeable wings.  Even with the three big men, two of them can shoot.  Everyone good to great at defense, too.  These other teams like Denver and LA just don't have any depth and OKC just comes at you the whole game.  Even today, Jalen Williams and Shai only played 38 minutes each.  Meanwhile, Jokic and Murray played 42 and Porter was even at 38.  Hell, the sat the top 6 players against Portland and still won by 20 or some such.

Their weakness is still overall shooting.  They can collectively hit long cold stretches.

they have 6 players. AG hurt his calf today? so thats down to 5.  is he gonna get shelved again for another 2-4 weeks? Porter mightve had the quietest 24 pts ive ever seen today.  Wolves need to steal their first denver game in a few days if denvers this banged up. could be talking ~4 games back if we take care of business vs SA and OKC beats denver again tomorrow

SGA and Jokic are both deserving winners this season. The 30/20/20 was something else but SGA has him 2-1 and dropped 40... again... and they have a fucking TWELVE game lead on the West.

I'd probably vote Jokic but don't feel super passionately either way. Kind of like how I would have voted Lamar for MVP but thought JA was plenty deserving.

SGA is a flopper bitch though. I can’t stand when guys build their whole game around drawing fouls.

he's too talented to be playing like a bitch, but here we are...he plays like a bitch. does the Luka defender riding the hip technique, flips the head back on drives is a ref pleaser...and that jumping into defenders to create contact. when OKC lost to our G league a few weeks ago he tried this move 17 ft out while the Wolves made an epic comeback. complained to the ref because they werent having it

This is such a lazy take.

SGA is averaging 32/5/6 on 52/38/90 splits.  He averages 9 FTs a game.  OKC is 28th in FTA as a team this season. He had 40 on Denver yesterday and shot 8/10 from the line.

Harden had multiple over 10 FTA a game seasons with his MVP year being 10.1

KD’s MVP year 9.9

Russ MVP year 10.4

Embiid in 22 - 11.7

Giannis back to back in 18,19 - 9.5 and 10

Outside of Jokic, you have to go back to 14-15 with Steph before you find someone with less FTA a game than SGA.

OKC addressed their weaknesses from last year. They were undersized and added Hartenstein. Giddey needs the ball to be of any value, but his defense was terrible. Couldn’t play in the playoffs. Also, he took the ball away from SGA. As mentioned above, maybe one more shooter would be nice, but Wiggins (who might be on the best contract in basketball outside of Peyton Pritchard) had really picked up his scoring. His have been great since the all star break. They are also in the top 10 in minutes missed by injury, so Mark has had to experiment with personnel and lineups. That will serve them well in the playoffs.

Players know he does that shit and defend him differently because they don't want to get called for a foul. Westbrook in that clip knows the move and tries to avoid it and still gets called.

Just watch him play. Looking at the stats doesn’t tell the story. It’s really obvious watching him he’s flopper. Maybe it’s his small frame but it’s also unnatural movements with the sole purpose of drawing slight contact then exaggerating it.

curry falling down every contested 3 is one thing but sga driving just to try and run into guys and fall down is a bore.

As the resident Steph apologist, he started falling down anytime that he felt someone in his landing zone way back when it seemed like his ankles were held together with rubber bands to not risk planting his foot on top of a defender's foot.

...that it also increased the likelihood of a foul call, and he began exaggerating the falls over time is purely an unintended coincidence (wink, wink)

I was surprised how good Hartenstein was.  Legit great at everything except shooting, which is fine.  Perfect complement to Chet.

The Giddey/Caruso trade seems to have worked for everyone.  Giddey is doing OK in Chicago where he's more on ball.  Caruso is a great defender and serviceable shooter.  Gets injured a lot, though.  Both him and Hartenstein have been great chemistry fits, too,

On the SGA being a "free throw merchant," can you tell me any great players that don't do that?  It's been a part of the game for as long as I can remember.  He just seems better at it because of his herky jerky style.

Does he play the system to get calls, sure.  What superstar doesn’t?  Hell Harden use to shoot 10 FTs a game cause of the stupid ass rip through move.

It still doesn’t diminish what he’s done this year.  He’s leading the league in scoring on a 53-11 team and is one of the clutchist players in the game.  He’s had 20 in 56 straight games, leads the league in 30 pt games with 40, 40 pt games with 11, and 50 pt games with 4.  All that averaging 9 FTs a game.

If it’s a product of “no one guarding him so they don’t foul”,  blame officials.   If I’m SGA or Daigneault, I’m taking advantage the same way any past MVPs that shot those FT numbers did.

Yeah maybe he started doing that seeing his teammates do it to others
