San Antonio Spurs 2024-25 - Alien: Resurrection

This is the perfect example of a game where Sochan being out is killing us. We aren't playing with any intensity or grit and letting the worst team in the league do whatever they want on O.

Fortunately they are shitty enough that we should still be able to BS our way to a win. Need a run to get some separation.

Also Wemby might go for 50.

Not only did Wemby put up 50 - we have a little squad going - boys.

We were 15th in net rating coming in to tonight (a spot ahead of the pinche Lakers).

We'll see where this game winds up but it will likely keep that # going in the right direction.

Would love to make a little noise in the play-in.

Also I hate how right I was about putting ZC and Branham back in. Holy shit those guys suck.

That's not a foul. Bad, late whistle by that chick. Ball is out of JoVal's hands before any of the contact.

What I don't understand about challenges - why is the person that made the shitty call allowed to sit there and defend it. Leave it to the other 2 refs and maybe a league rep sitting in a booth somewhere.

Branham finishes with a -22 in a 9 point win in 13 minutes.

Meanwhile Wesley is a +9 in 13 minutes.

Can anyone explain what's going on to me because this is turning into one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen an NBA team continue to double-down on. Is the dude playing like fucking Kobe in practice? Did he get a copy of the Epstein list with a bunch of Spurs execs on it?

He's kind of a crafty scorer but isn't great from 3 and can't play a motherfucking lick of defense. Let alone run an NBA offense.

Big game tonight, fellas. At least - as big as they can be in November.

Lakers -3.5 which I think is a tad high after we just covered twice at home - also considering we are above them in both SRS (12th vs. 15th) and net rtg (14th vs. 16th) on the season. I'm not used to having a bang-average NBA team - it's been awhile.

Just need to weather whatever horrible lineups we come up with involving Branham and/or ZC. Really wish we would give Wesley and Mamu/Bassey respectively more run in those guys' stead but what do I know I'm just some asshole on the internet.

It's probably too early in the season for the SRS and Net Rtg numbers to really mean anything, but there's no doubt the Spurs are improved. I've only watched the Lakers sporadically. They seem to be running some more diverse stuff on offense. The defense seems to have taken a step back.

If Vic can keep shooting 50% on high volume three's, I like our chances. His battle with the brow last year had some great moments both ways. It will be a good measuring stick for him. Should be a fun one outside of the Lebron/Chris Paul lovefest and as long as it doesn't devolve into a three point chucking / 130+ point game.

I watched the Lakers run a backdoor screen action in their first game and wanted to give JJ COTY, lol
