I guess you can't play Utah every night but beyond that, they didn't play with much juice. A little disappointing considering that Lakers played last night, too.

I wouldn’t say they “played”. Not that I’m bitter in defeat.

Spurs would have lost that game last year. They’re 5-3 in crunch time games this year. They were 13-28 last year.

Sochan supposed to be back Tuesday against Phoenix. If they beat the suns, they win their cup group. I’m actually a little into it. This will be the first game in a long ass time that they’ve played for anything but ping pong balls.

All this. I have zero problem with him taking threes. He needs to take them. It's the shot selection that is so disgusting. He needs to get his looks in the rhythm of the game. Maybe don't launch 30 footers with hand in your face with 20 seconds on the clock after zero passes? If he makes a couple in the flow of the offense and then wants to take a heat check, sure. But otherwise work for a better shot.

Overall, though, he's been very rough. I wonder about his conditioning. I get that he needed rest after the Olympics, but I didn't think it would be this bad. He gets winded really quickly and I think it also contributes to his shot selection. It's a lot easier to jack up a three from the logo and only have to run halfway back down the court than go fight for position against a turd like Dillon Brooks on the block. But fuck, how out of shape could a 20 year old with zero body fat get in a few weeks? He looked like a monster in the Olympics.

Since I posted this, Wemby is hitting 43% from three on crazy volume. These numbers are not normal on any level.

Yuuuuup. Dude is an elite shooter. His form is awesome. You don't see a guy shoot like that and tell him to cut it down. If he's open for 3, fire away baby.

Man I just love Jeremy's presence. It's like he calms everyone down on both ends of the floor. Does dirty work. Gets 50/50 balls (and 40/60 balls). Pisses opponents off.

We did fine without him record-wise but it felt like we were a lot streakier and less purposeful.

I think this is going to be a tough win, though. PHO has been really damn good when Durant and Beal play.

I kind of worry that 82 games is a bit much for Wemby's frame. Seems like he has some consistency issues and doesn't really bring it night in and night out.

Really it's the only thing keeping him from being a top 5 player.

Maybe (hopefully) it's just a mental thing. He has done this twice against LA and now against PHO in another marquee matchup.

Our announcers are aware that KD appears to be done for the night, correct?

Kind of a big note to open this half. Although maybe Johnson really did give a killer locker room speech.

We should win this with no Durant.

I think the Spurs figured out that Phoenix has zero rim protection. Sometimes it’s okay to shoot layups. Durant being out isn’t hurting either. Booker in foul trouble. They could get this one tonight.

They're a completely different team without Durant. That's 80% of it right there.

But I'll take it. Phoenix wasn't going to stay healthy all season.

I'm not sure anyone has played more minutes for the Spurs than KJ with less BBIQ. Like in the history of the franchise. I mean holy shit he almost without fail does something mind-numbingly stupid multiple times per game.

Outside of that - nice rotational player.

Worst loss of the season.

I wish we could move on from KJ but the FO won't do it and no one would want him anyway. Feel like we should have shipped him a year or two ago. Then again we were giving Malaki Branham minutes up until 4 games ago.

Still a lot to like with these guys but tonight was not it. It's going to start and end with Wemby and he was bad again. But I mean fuck me all we had to do was hit 30% from 3 tonight.

Glad to get Sochan back.

Christ I just realized Nurkic didn't even play either.
