I think these close losses are really showing how much we miss Pop. There just doesn't seem to be any good plays being drawn up when we need a bucket. Just a bunch of guys standing around hoping Wemby will save them.

I don't love Mitch but I don't hate him. He could be better but I actually think he's doing okay.

This roster is extremely flawed. KJ is at best a 7th or 8th guy on a good playoff team and DV has been playing at that same level basically all season. If we're going to compete with Wemby KJ can't be anything more than a role-playing cheerleader and DV can't be better than a 3rd option.

I don't know who completely broke Sochan's jumper instead of marginally improving it this season but I hope it winds up being a step back and two steps forward.

Bassey and Collins both suck. We need a better backup 5.

Castle has GOT to get more minutes. Mitch has done this shit twice now in the last couple weeks where he freezes him out late and we lose because we can't buy a bucket. He's going to be better than Vassell as soon as next season - Mitch seriously needs to quit punishing him for typical rookie mistakes and let him get more experience.

Sochan is nearly unplayable at crunch time. That’s two straight games where nobody is within 10 feet of him at the arc  at winning time and he isn’t even close to making it. It’s not an accident that he is that open. He’s killing the spacing and bogging down the entire offense.

I agree with @ztejas that Castle needs those minutes. He’s a playmaker who can create for himself and others. But they definitely can’t play him with Sochan unless they want to multiply their spacing woes.

Keldon Johnson doing a fantastic job padding his stats tonight maybe he can get another undeserved contract from some dumbfuck in our front office. Lord knows no other GM in the league is dumb enough to give this guy 20 million a season and let him play 25 minutes a night.

Dude doesn't do shit all game but sit around with his dick in his hands then when MIL has it sewn up plays like he's prime Charles Barkley.

Dunks and Threes EPM has him as a bottom 2% defender in the league and on top of that he was shooting .276 from 3 on the season coming in to tonight.

Glad he's part of our exciting young core that we are putting around Wemby to try and rebuild into a playoff contender.

I'm honestly shocked we quit giving Malaki Branham minutes. I can't tell sometimes if we're the San Antonio Spurs or the Salvation Army.

Rough night. I think this team is due for a market correction on their record. I hope I’m wrong but they’ve had a home heavy schedule and a negative overall point differential. I think they’re a bit due to rack up some L’s. Ending up in the lottery again wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

Holy shit does Keldon Johnson have some painful tendencies. Drives into the paint, doesn't have the athleticism to finish, so he just runs into whoever and gets a charge call. Seems to happen once in every game.

Spurs this season with Sochan: 9-13.

Spurs this season without Sochan 10-6.

Advanced stats this season love the kid despite him playing rather poorly imo. He demonstrably makes our defense better when he is on the floor and raises the energy and intensity level and frankly is the type of player that we need moving forward. Are you looking for another Keldon Johnson?

We are 19-19 with him on the roster. Only stat that matters.

You'll come around on Sochan, Mitch. You have a solid basketball mind.

I don't think he's being coached or developed very well. What's our record on that?

I'm still on board with Sochan. I just thought the record with and without him was interesting. He hasn't seemed right to me since he got injured. He really started off the season well. They need he and Castle on the court together and it's a big spacing problem. Hopefully Castle becomes more consistent from outside and the problem goes away because those two plus Wemby make for hellacious defense when you need fourth quarter stops.

I have noticed the record thing you brought up with various lineups of ours this season. It seems like short-term it is easier for the offense to operate when we are missing guys like Sochan or DV or whoever. They need to figure out how to all play together and that shit takes work and doesn't always result in winning basketball short-term.

In other news, The Ringer has Wemby #6 in their updated top-100 (https://nbarankings.theringer.com/) and acted like him over KD was a tough decision. I think that's fucking laughable. I'm an all-time KD fan but he's been meh this season - I think a more interesting discussion is does Vic need to be higher than 6.

Kid doesn't bring it every night quite yet and still puts up some offensive clunkers every once in awhile but he's averaging 4 God damn blocks per game, has cut his turns down and has improved from every spot on the floor shooting-wise including a huge jump from the line.

Jokic is a better player. Outside of that? Do I seriously think Vic instead of SGA on that OKC team wouldn't result in OKC still murdering fools? Do I think that Boston wouldn't be nasty built around Vic instead of Tatum?

To me, he is quickly outpacing the silly requisite # of years you need to play before we consider you one of the best. Call a spade a spade because the kid is a fucking spade and dragging a fairly dysfunctional roster and coaching-situatuon into serious playoff contention. (CP also deserves a lot of credit there)
