Aldama is slapping his unibrow dick across the Spurs weakass foreheads.

Dude averages 13 points but I swear scores 30 every time against us. We let him do anything. Our defense makes me rage.

This team could suck a coconut through a fuckin cocktail straw right now.

I think I said it a few games ago - the FO needs to quit dicking around and come out with a statement on the head coaching spot.

It's coaching.

A lot of it is. Our roster still has issues but we shouldn't be this bad. We should be scrapping and finding ways to stay in games.

Rough night. I think this team is due for a market correction on their record. I hope I’m wrong but they’ve had a home heavy schedule and a negative overall point differential. I think they’re a bit due to rack up some L’s. Ending up in the lottery again wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

I hate it when I'm right sometimes, but the signs have been there for a few weeks.

The schedule has gotten tougher and not so coincidentally, their defense has gotten worse. 1-6 in the last 7, and they've given up 122 (in OT), 114, 121, 129, 140 and 128. They can't play at a fast pace and win. They don't shoot it well enough. They are also getting killed in transition off long threes. They need to grind it out on defense and run clock on offense and take efficient shots to win, and they aren't playing like that. Honestly and disappointingly, they look a lot like last year's team.

Maybe a few days in Paris will fix them, playing against Indiana who plays as fast or faster than anyone else in the league. Yeah, good luck with that.

If this shit continues through the rodeo, Victor may have to come down with a sprained armpit or gluteal stiffness for a few weeks and just hop into the tank. I hate to be that guy but...

Castle is going to compete on the all star duck contest. I can't remember a Spurs player ever participating before.

What? You don't remember Edgar Jones? The Wild Helicopter? He was one of my all time favorite Spurs. He had like four teeth. He would smile and it would look like he was certifiably insane, which was also exactly the way he played. He would try to dunk everything and block everything, consequences be damned.

Or Cadillac Anderson? He was one of my least favorite Spurs. He had maybe the worst hands of anyone who ever wore the black and silver.

Johnny Dawkins, too.

I'll never forget the day Johnny Dawkins got drafted. He wanted to go so badly to the Bulls and play with MJ, and they picked Brad Sellers in the slot directly before the Spurs were up. Right after the Sellers pick, you could see him shake his head and mouth, "Oh shit. San Antonio is next." He knew what was about to go down. Of course, that moutherfucker's career got sideswiped with the freakiest injury ever -- nerve damage after icing down his leg too long that made him lose control of his foot. I still think he was faking it to get the hell out SA.

I used to love the NBA All Star weekend and the pride of a Spurs player making it. I also remember watching in embarrassment at Cadillac Anderson in the dunk contest.

It was like watching a one-time slightly athletic 50 year-old-man trying to dunk on a 9 ft goal.

No Sochan really hurts there.

Not sure he is fixing the current shitshow, though.

Keldon is just fucking horrific on D. DV and Mimosa-ingredient aren't much better. Collins is unplayable he's so bad on that end. CP has chops obviously but is 6 foot nothing and 40 years old.

I mean without Sochan, Castle is our 2nd best defender and being a rookie he still has his moments.

Mad Men Not Great Bob GIF

Some of those guys have tools, though. On top of it we aren't coached well right now on either end of the floor.

The intention this season was not to tank. If that's what it turns into then fine but it has to be the last season. FO needs to show that they give a shit about winning (and they did that in part with the CP and Barnes adds but that isn't enough).

Castle having a bad game so far with the turnovers. Hopefully he can clean that up as the game goes on.

Mamu getting some early playing time today. And is this the first time he's been on the floor with Wemby this season?

Oh look, another nationally televised game where the Spurs are getting run off the floor. The Pacers' full court pressure has completely overwhelmed the Spurs. Mitch needs to do some actual coaching and turn this around in the second half.

Yep, he's got the Tom Herman 1000 yard stare part down pat.

Don't worry we'll soon have a stroked out 75 year old Pop back to run experiments like Sochan PG and lineups that we'll never see again as we "learn what Wemby is comfortable with."  Our defense will improve marginally and we'll fight for that 10th playin spot and wait for those draft picks to pay off.  Sometime around Wemby's 8th or 9th season, barring injury, we'll think about contending again.

This FO needs to die in a fire and Pop needs to retire. This shit is embarassing.

Sac can have anyone but Castle as far as I'm concerned. I imagine Vasell and picks gets it done. Unless Houston comes in with a godfather offer, who else is chasing him? Orlando maybe? Fox is an upgrade over Suggs but he seems integral to their core. Unless I'm missing something, the other likely destinations either already have a pg or don't have assets.

If they trade Sochan I'm lighting myself on fire in front of the Alamodome.

(Your general take I agree with and I agree that Castle should be untouchable - send them DV if we have to plus picks - optimally I think it's something like Keldon + Collins for salary match + picks)

I hope our FO has the balls to do it.

Yeah, we all know that we’re going to trust…checks notes…the process.

Vassell in his 5th year seems like he won't reach the player Fox is now, and Fox only just turned 27. I'm on board. I've been hoping he would become a true #2 option for Wemby, but fuck 5 years is a long sample size to prove it and he just isn't there. Honestly I wouldn't even be too mad to see Castle go either. The chances he develops into an all-star and/or NBA leader in steals? Can't be that high. I know he has tons of potential, but it's going to take more than that for him to become the #2 that Fox can be for us right now. If they still leave us room to build with our picks, go get him FO.

Tough ending but the fight was there. It needs to be there more consistently. And the horrible execution down the stretch didn’t help. There’s no spacing with Sochan and Castle on the floor at the same time.

I suggested this trade the other day and then someone on sbnation suggested the exact same thing.

I would do this in half a second if I'm the Spurs. Sacramento might want an NBA player as part of the deal, however. But if they're going to blow it up and go rebuild mode then KJ and Collins will eat salary and keep your wins from getting too high.

Those 1st will likely not be great but it's still 1st round picks.

Yeah but they do this thing called "play defense". There isn't coaching no matter who is on the floor.

One of them needs to become serviceable from 3 if we hang on to both. I love Sochan but he is a lot less untradeable than Castle.

Do we want to give up Chicago's first rounder?

They only have the 9th worst record right now. Our pick may wind up better than theirs (you could let SAC choose, I suppose). The odds either of those picks turns into someone as good as Fox is very, very low and the Fox timeline would be better for Wemby.

What you need to be focused on is the part where we get out from under the KJ and ZC money. But idk if the Kings would fall for that.
