Bregman is looking more greedy than taking care of his family. Does he not have his money streams lined out? I could see Bregman owning Houston, seems like he hates the town and couldn’t wait to get out.
Houston deserves better.
Jose Cruz never won a World Series in Htown and he is Houston sport royalty.

Lulz at Bregman thinking he can strongarm the Astros into a better contract. I would tell Boras that every week that passes, he loses a year and $5M.

Yep, I wouldn't budge off their last offer.  The Astros already have a pretty good third basemen.  Boras and Bregman don't have any leverage here.

I've been saying this to other people.  He's looking greedy and he and Boras overvalued his worth.

All he had to do was take the generous contract we offered and he'd be continue to be as loved as Altuve.  He's hurt his own reputation among Astros fans.

Bregman is never going to be loved like Altuve

Bregman is the one who decided he was going to leave.  Altuve is the one who offered to move to left field to make his return a possibility.

Don't see how any baseball free agent would want boras as thier agent . Dude has lost alot of money past few off seasons

Boras was counting on an MLB GM being named Jerry Jones.

I'm already saying fuck it, I don't want him.   Let's run with the young guns.

Okay maybe not AS loved as Altuve but he'd def be in the convo as a top Astro for a lot of people.

Because no one literally loves Alex Bregman.  But we like him.  Or did.

Was excited at the prospect of Bregman when it seemed like he had come to his senses and wanted to come back.  Now that it's clear that we are merely still a negotiating ploy, dude can fuck off.  It's not my money, but the current offer we have out to him is not going to age well and if he STILL wants more, he's gonna need to look for it elsewhere.

I predict some boos first time back if he leaves.

He'd likely be in the top 10 but clearly behind Altuve, Biggio, Bagwell, Wagner, and Ryan.

This would be my strategy if I was Jim Crane:

I’d invite Alex out to lunch and talk about the good times we had together. Then, I’d tell him that I loved him. Then, I’d point out that I gave him an offer I was exceedingly uncomfortable with (more than 5 years) and nobody else had received. I’d tell him that if he can still play 6 years from now he would have my word that I’d take care of him with another extension so that he could retire as an Astro and only an Astro.

I’d tell him that the offer wasn’t budging a single penny because that’s already higher than I’d ever gone before and he seems to not be going to get the 200M he wants anywhere. I’d end it with “hope you come back, that’s a lot to think about why don’t you sleep on it, talk to your wife and let me know tomorrow morning. Because the offer expires at 9:00 am and I’ve got to go get a couple OFers and finish building my roster before they were all gone.

I’m not saying this would work, but if he wants Alex back and Alex wants to be back maybe it breaks through. If not you have certainty and move on to something else. Kind oflike Hakeem and Charlie Thomas heart to heart on the way to Japan when he was asking to be traded.

I would rank Bregman behind Cammi, Aspromante, Blummer, and Garner.

lol. bregman had a walk-off game-winning hit off a future HOF closer in the world series. but i guess caminiti had a stronger arm and garner a better mustache.

Leones del Escogido are the Dominican Republic winter league champions!

Rafael Montero gets the save to win the game!

Pujols is the manager.  Montero let him experience being an Astros fan in 2005.

Are we getting any ROI on Abreu, can he take tickets, make Cubano sandwiches… something, anything? Can he at least mentor our young guys how to play with their jersey’s half open.

Still baffled how a World Series closer can only draw us a prospect that lands in the 20s for us?

1) he was pretty shaky last year
2) he’s expensive
3) he’s 36
4) he had a full no trade clause
5) he’s only under contract for one more year

He and LMJ can sling coffee and cocktails during games at LMJ's spot.

6) His fastball can barely top 90 now.

Man… y’all some ungrateful assholes turning on Bregs like this.  He’s a top tier Astro player in Astro history, simply for being a key element of both WS winning seasons.  Don’t try to wedge in every lovable Astro ahead of him.

Put some respeck on the man’s name.   What’s happening now is just business.  He already gave the organization a discount on some of his prime seasons once.

We made Bregman, he didn't make us.
