Altuve in LF is sad.

Maybe sad in the sense that our time with the Greatest Astro is closer to the end than the beginning.  However, it's the better thing for the team's defense, and it shows why he is so amazing and lovable.  For me, it elevates him even further, from god status to whatever is beyond that.  I'll never bet against him, and they better list his true height and not that 5'6 bullshit on his plaque in Cooperstown.

I didn't realize he had become such a defensive liability. Just kind of snuck up on us I guess

I think they had successfully hidden the loss of range behind their shift strategy, and the rules change away from that made it more of an acute problem.

This would be awesome. Anything other than the brick red would be awesome.

I agree, but the brick red hats for 2025 are already on the internet for purchase. Hopefully it's just a one-off product offering for people who are nostalgic of the Carlos "El Taco Caballo" Lee era.

He was never a good defensive 2B, it was just the best position on the field for him because he had a weak arm. He has had two seasons where his DRS was positive. The last 3 years; -15, -13, -13. For his career he has a -82 DRS.

He was good defensively for the shift because Correa covered so much.   Minus the yips in 2020 playoffs.

i've been listening to a lot of interviews, we have a legit shot at 162-0

We won 88 games last year and I saw where Christian Walker saves like 62 runs per year defensively so that should realistically put us at 115-118 wins.

He won a Gold Glove some way, but it was a decade ago.

I think a lot of y’all are going to be disappointed in the new City Connects coming later this year.

All of them are awful, MLB should stop trying to be like the NBA where every team has every color combo and multiple logos, get off my goddamned lawn.

Joe Espada tells Todd Kalas on @AstrosRadioMLB that he expects Lance McCullers and Luis Garcia to return from the IL “pretty early in the season.”

He says late April is in play for McCullers.

Cubs DFA Alexander Canario when they signed Justin Turner.  Astros should get him.  He did well in the minors, and barely had any ABs in the majors so far.  Most importantly he is an OFer who is 24 yrs old so just get him and see what the hell happens

There is no way he is worse than Taylor Trammell
