Man I have always enjoyed watching lifetime Longhorns play….all of them.

However…I have never enjoyed any of them as much as watching Scottie.

He is such a great representative of UT and not just on the course, which is obvious, but off as well.

He is a class act.

Spieth is cooking. 2 shots back at -15. Running out of holes, but he could post something. He’s tied with Dougie Ghim.

Top 10 finish for Jordan, Doug dropped a couple of shots on the back side and finished T11.

Next week is Signature event (Arnie's) and a opposite event (Puerto Rico) and following those is the TPC aka biggest non-major. Golf season is heating up - only 39 days until Augusta

Spieth not in the Bay Hill field - did not qualify (field is too small imo for these signature events) and was not provided an exemption (these shouldn’t exist so fine).

and the sponsors and TV networks; both of whom want the top names in the field all 4 days.
that being said I am disappointed that the PGA tour is leaning towards more exclusivity and away from Monday qualifiers, full field events, and KF Tour promotions

damn.  i never knew that.  just looked and saw that Jordan didn't make his Bay Hill debut until 2021. shame on Jordan. this tourney has always been really good. clearly, Bay Hill isn't going to go out of its way to include Jordan.

even still though, not sure why they'd give an exemption to an amateur at an elevated event (Jackson Koivun), but whatever.

The 51st edition of The Players Championship begins Thursday, March 13, on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.

The first two rounds will be highlighted by the grouping of world Nos. 1, 2 and 3 as, respectively, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele will play together. They will start off at 1:29 p.m. EDT on Day 1.

The field of 144 will compete for $25 million, with $4.5 million going to the champion on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.

A cut to the low 65 and ties will be made following the second round in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will try to become the first golfer to win the Players Championship three years in a row when he plays in the event at TPC Sawgrass this week. Scheffler backed up his five-stroke victory in 2023 with a one-stroke win last year. He is the +360 favorite (risk $100 to win $360) in the 2025 Players Championship odds, followed by Rory McIlroy (+800). Other 2025 Players Championship contenders include Collin Morikawa (+1600), Xander Schauffele (+1600) and Ludvig Aberg (+2000).

Listing to the golf channel on Sirius XM, and they're talking about tigers and nasty ruptured his Achilles. So no Masters really nothing this year. I'd give him less than a 50-50 chance of playing PGA tour events, and really any majors no he always has done well going through rehab coming back the other side even stronger.

Is a blown Achilles like the fourth worst injury Tiger’s had?  I’m not really joking…

Well the car crash is #1 if you count that. His back was seriously fucked up and I don't know how many surgeries he's had overall but I don't know if that is one "injury" more like a lot of little stuff plus some wear and tear/chronic issues.

Tearing an Achilles is really bad especially with how fucked up and old he is already.

I mean I would imagine the dude is probably in constant pain with everything that's happened. Pretty sad.

And believe it or not, he’s so lucky he dodges raindrops. He could have taken a lob wedge to the skull from Elin, or a .380 in the balls from a jilted Waffle House waitress’s boyfriend, or he could have been impaled by a utility pole when he rolled the Genesis. Or snapped a limb while playing Navy Seal.

Definitely lots of irony in him being a guy who introduced fitness to the sport but also so obsessed with it that he ended up pushing it too far and breaking his body.

Although as yall said the car crash is what finally did him in. I think he had another win or two in him if he didn't shatter his leg.

The only interesting thing left for him to do is win the US Senior Open.

Maybe. Has he played in any of the old guy tournaments? Because that would be admitting that he can't compete with the regular guys and I don't see that happening. He won't give it up. He's Emmit playing for the Cardinals.

I don't think he would go full time. But I think he would be the only guy to have the Jr Am, US Am, US Open, and Senior Open titles.
