With how confident folks are, curious how much people are laying down on us to cover?

Think it opened closer to 16 - saw it get down to 14 - at 14.5 right now.

Guessing there is a lot of money on both sides.

Well yeah, because just one year earlier we'd had a 38-20 halftime lead that we completely blew.  Of course, that Texas team was kind of terrible at everything, so...

in 2018 testudines thermenses entered the 4TH QUARTER with a lead of THREE TOUCHDOWNS and was bailed out by The Kicker

in 2021 sark entered the 3rd quarter with a 3-score lead up 38-20 before the thieves outscored us in the 2nd half 35-10

in 2005 we were up 31-6 at the end of the 3rd quarter and i still had the shakes from the ptsd of the prior 5 years

the ONLY TIME IN MY LIFE i've felt giddy about the foregone result was 2 years ago halfway through the 3rd quarter when it was clear the thieves had quit

mack's teams quit 4 times

the thieves have quit once in the lifetime of everyone reading this

may Ewers find his range and this be a repeat of 2 years ago, one of those days where he cuts them in to little pieces

I've just assumed you can bet a kids' 529 plan, but I probably should've check with my financial advisor.

while on the subject of 94, and a hollaback at everyone buying tickets on the thief side of the stadium.....

this pic shows 2 things....

- it's the best pic i've ever seen which shows the '94 modifications to allow a regulation soccer pitch AND shows the alignment of the final '08 expansion that resulted in the capacity increase from 68,252 to 92,100

- i've circled in red the empty area on the thief side where easily 1000 people could stand with an unobstructed view IN FULL SHADE! ---- anyone that has to buy a thief-side ticket ---- go to our south endzone (the 08 expansion north concourse is identical) and voila thou shalt be amongst the civilized

If Texas doesn't leave them with absolutely no hope for the future, I'll consider it a loss.

If we embarrass them, I’m worried they’ll be more likely to move from BV sooner than later.

Last year’s win was a fluke and those toothless fucks ran their mouths a lot, I’d be very shocked if we don’t win this year after that and all the changes that have happened year over year.

Pretty sure DW hurt his hamstring a few weeks back...

SIAP, but is he questionable or probable?  If he's less than 100%, and if OU isn't doing much in the passing game, I'd prefer to give him some extra rest before the Georgia game.

Sooners basically quit in 1970 and 1998.

1970: Eddie Phillips/Steve Worster/Jim Bertelsen had the wishbone rolling 41-9. Peak DKR over OU. Utter domination. Sooners were never in it.

-- Fun fact. OU debuted the wishbone in this game and it failed miserably. According to my dad (RIP), either the Dallas Times Herald or Morning News ran this headline for the story: "Sooners try wishbone, Longhorns show'em how to run it."

1998: Ricky was running wild and the Blake era bottomed out. That game was over by mid 3rd quarter.

i had the privilege of spending a lot of time on this field when the mls Burn played there 96-03

the PITCH was voted unanimously as the best in mls by all of the internationals who played for mls in it's inaugural season

the grass is somewhere between 5 and 7 inches thick

it's like a sponge, and it's almost impossible to rip up

it requires enormous quantities of water to keep alive and thriving, but this is the same grass that was installed 30 years ago for the 94 world cup

30 million dollars of water have been consumed for our annual fiesta

worth every penny

thank you, City of Dallas

Its beautiful every year. They do a good job with it.

just got my tickets. Section 4. Ugh  That’s OU. Anyone ever had to sit with those fucks?

Walk to the TX side and find a couple of meth heads to trade with. Let those animals sit with their own kind.

Last year it was turnovers that cost us, just limit that and it should be an easy day.

I have $200.00 on us covering at the Indian casino close to where I live. I'll be able take the wife out for a free steak dinner because of this game.

Remember the Michigan game? Everyones' brains were telling them we would embarass Michigan, but many CFB bettors were afraid of the line for emotional reasons; playing in the Big House, defending national champs, etc. This is a replay of that scenrio. Michigan has a freshman QB, a new & jacked up o-line and a colossal mess at WR. We will have covered the line by halftime. People are using nonsense to take OU and the points....rivalry game, what has happened years ago, etc.

Gordon Gekko said never to get emotional about stock because it clouds your judgment. The same goes for CFB betting.

psa reminder: the bottom 20 rows of section 15 in the middle of our endzone are thief tickets to make up for them having the tunnel on their end

So that section will be empty in the fourth quarter, too?

It'll be lonely in the fourth third quarter.

We extend our largest margin of victory over ou from the 49 two years ago to 56 (and claim the largest margin of victory in the series).

56-0

I originally had 65-0 but that’s dependent on freak D/ST scores. Could very well happen but not betting on it.

This ou team is not good, nay, terrible.
I bet the highest alternate line I could find. Texas -29.5.

We could have 42 by the half.

I imagine we’ll show some new defensive alignments /blitz packages as well as some new offensive wrinkles early. I really wish we wouldn’t. I hope Sark gives both sides of the ball the chance to dominate in their base packages. They will. And save the exotic stuff for next week or later in the season/playoff.

Just catching up on this thread,  has someone posted the post where it talks about what it's like to attend the texas-ou game, there's a reference to the texas state trooper giving you a hookem...maybe what it's like walking through the tunnel...and how much we hate those motherfuckers?

I hear you. Which is why I’m reluctant to put money on Texas covering, because I’m emotional about it. I may take Texas getting a TD on first drive however. Wanted to bet on Texas covering against Meatchicken earlier this year, but couldn’t get my account unlocked by Fan Duel at the time and I changed jobs between one Sportsbook to another between seasons and there’s apps you can and can’t use. I did feel good about winning a $1000 ML on Texas beating Bama last year though. Just had that feeling that we will finally turn the corner.

The 2023 game was made possible to lose by the turnovers.

However, the Offense staked us to a 3-point lead with 77 seconds to play and handed over the game to the Defense to close out. OU got the ball, 75 yards from our goal and no timeouts. It took OU five plays and 62 seconds to score. We had two timeouts, might've wanted to usevat least one when clock was already stopped, you know, to see if PK and the D staff could figure something out...

Meh, woulda coulda shoulda. Ain't gonna need that this season.

Nah, we should play in Koshien Stadium in the Osaka, Japan, metro area, home of the "Koshien Bowl" for Japan's annual college football MNC game each year.  Lulz.

it's amazing that all of the aggy that infest txdot do not sabotage pro-sip messages this time of year
Nah, they do the same shit when aggy has a big game and they don't want it to get to the point where neither side can do it.

I'm amazed every year at the condition of the grass. The city of Dallas has made many boneheaded decisions over the years, (the Cotton Bowl itself passed up "dated" decades ago, now it's an ancient ruin) but somehow they manage to keep the Cotton Bowl turf in good shape.

The novelty of such a thing would be off the charts, and although I'm a traditionalist, I'd be down for it being a one time thing.

Of course if we actually did this thing at night the City of Dallas wouldn't allow it to happen again...so no real danger of that becoming default.
