jesus christ, people. it's one loss. we were riding a near franchise record point streak. there have been some underlying issues that they have played through, but yesterday came down to one bad play. it happens. move on. sheesh

Obviously, the Capitals game is running long because I imagine there was a lengthy celebration after Ovechkin broke Gretzky’s goal record. We haven’t started yet — are they delaying start of our game to let this one finish or will it be on another channel for the first part?

Or, we're getting the best from teams trying to get into the playoffs.

Anyway, got the point. Get the second and call it good

It’s not the scoreboard as much as the shots allowed and the hustle plays.

hopefully we win it in OT.

Idiot play by Robertson to draw penalty.

Yup, couple that with the Harley mishap last game and the youts have shown some inexperience. I'm ok with it now rather than a few weeks from now, but I hope they clean this shit up quick. I suspect they will

Have been sloppy as hell for 3 weeks now but still winning.    Now law of averages playing out.

Yeah, getting outshot by 10+ per game is not where we want to be.

They quit caring once the playoff spot was clinched

I don't know if that's necessarily the case. If it is, somebody needs to remind them there are advantages to winning the division as you'll draw a WC opponent instead of Colorado without Miro.

Didn't get to see much of Saturday's game. Turned it on just in time to see the pratfall and game winner for the Pens.

Sunday's game always worried me. Back-to-back against a team fighting for playoff life. While I still think the officiating was confusing, Dallas can't go 0 for 4 with a man advantage against the Wild. I lose all right to complain when the Stars don't take advantage.

The PPs continued the same problem that the rest of the game had - inability to execute fundamentals. Tape-to-skate passes that got fumbled. Entering the offensive zone looking to pass or keep, so you do neither. Losing puck battles on the wall even with numbers. A lot of bad luck and regression to hockey means for some of the fortunate bounces the Stars enjoyed this season, but all too frequently just a lack of focusness.

Coming out of these two games with only 1 point is maddening. If I try to see a tosheroon in this mud, I'd point to the psychological struggle of a 7 game win streak. Carrying that pace into the playoffs shouldn't make any difference objectively, but we're all familiar with "should they lose before the playoffs" type mentality.

Anyway, the goal is still in reach, although the Stars have to have WPG help to get there. Getting back on track at home for the next 3 games is imperative. Stabilize the line up, get familiar, and play the game.

Team looks sloppy and tired.  We've had a lot of guys logging a ton of minutes the last few weeks.  The good news is that after this 3 game home stretch, we'll be in a really good position to know whether or not to push the last 2 road games.   Before puck drops next Monday, Winnipeg will only have one game left (home against Anaheim) which you have to chalk up as a win.   If we are still 3+ points behind I think you just manage minutes and treat those games like practice to get ready for the Avs.  Absolutely have to play better than we've been playing to win that series.

Colorado has not exactly been world-beaters since their roster depth got decimated by the salary cap after they won the Cup.

Maybe not but I'd rather get a WC team in R1 than a team with MacKinnon and Makar. Landeskog might return too, though he hasn't played since they won the Cup. The Avalanche are 19-8-2 since the blockbuster Rantanen-for-Necas deal.
