Longer story but nope went the other way, which made things difficult for a while.   Our thing was different than this and what we were facing, naming names was a worse idea.

Well this escalated a bit.  I just want to beat Kentucky.

All the "never talk to the police" folks should think about how that worked out for Jon and Patty Ramsey.

Police were so butthurt about their lack of cooperation they did everything they could to pin it on them and refused to investigate any other leads. The killer will likely never be found

Their situation would likely not have been enhanced by talking to the cops, especially without counsel.

It would have been much worse for them if they had talked to the police.

The police can just as easily submit questions to a suspect’s/person-of-interest’s lawyer. Not talking directly to the police might make you look guilty to the public but thats 100x better than going to prison.

Ah yes, don’t forget about that one case from 30 years ago where it might have made a difference.

If the cops aren’t investigating because they are butthurt, that’s a cop-caused issue.

That was all the police being bumblefuck idiots. They had DNA evidence early on that excluded the family and they basically ignored it because of their tunnel vision. They went so far as going to China to see if a there was a white guy involved at any point in the manufacturing process of her underwear, just to try to explain away the DNA. The expert detective the police brought in said he believed all the evidence at the scene pointed to an intruder and then he was dismissed from the case. And on top of that they ignored similar other breaking & entering sexual assault cases in Boulder that targeted young girls around that timeframe, refusing to believe a possible connection.

If the parents had talked to the cops they’d be sitting in a prison cell right now. And the real killer would also still be on the loose.

i got this alert and rolled my eyes. DNA does not always mean blood from a dismembered body.

It could be but this rush to report and let people eat up the implication is annoying.

"Well we never said explicitly it was blood"

Also, there may be her DNA evidence on lots of their garden tools besides the saw. My wife does a lot more with the smaller garden tools while I would use the larger devices like chainsaws.

And the likelihood that he used a saw to cut her into pieces is very low.

Yeah, I doubt he used a saw to cut her up but wonder how he tried to hide it

But at the same time I’m pretty sure my wife has never used a saw in her life. I should probably have her try out some various tools, chain saws, hammers etc just in case…she may yard like work

Yeah, I don't know if my wife has used a saw but she damn sure has put tools away that I left out.

her blood and hair was found on the saw, not just DNA

found in the pumphouse where he told his buddy to meet him

his blood was all over his truck

he had a cut on his hand

I haven’t stabbed anybody to death or dismembered a body (yet), but I’ll make sure I’m wearing some of those fish fillet gloves when I do.  Seems like everybody cuts themselves when they do it.

It’s not that hard if you get right in the joints like when you separate a chicken leg from the thigh.

So she tried to kill him with a saw in his truck, then fled?  Release him, put a bolo out for her, sit back and wait for the wheels of justice to move.
