I don't mind their originals.  Her lyrics are kinda forced at times, but whatever.

I just want to know who was playing guitar on that track, because she wasn't, nor was the carboard cutout.

I've never heard this before . . . a friend is on drums . . . Robert Palmer covering Devo, absolutely smokin'.  That's apparently Nuno B on guitar, wow:

Yeah, she's disgusting.

She knew she had to have lowered expectations.  With a face like that your choices are limited and you end up with a chubby hubby like this guy.  Poor girl.

In those pictures he definitely out kicked his coverage. Probably a handsome stud when she married him, and was lucky to have him. That's the explanation I give to Mrs. CHIEF about our relationship after 27 years.

Forbert has to be one of the best one hit wonders of all time, but this cover is just magnificent

I'm not sure I dig the subdued vibe, as the original has such a vibrant energy to it, but yeah, it's a good cover.

I saw Steve Forbert once.  It was at the Texas Union bar, on a first date with an absolutely out-of-my-league smokin' hot cheerleader for University of Arkansas.  Best week of my life.  She ended up with a Pig football player.  I'm pretty sure I had a higher SAT than him, though, so ha!  Her loss.  Errr . . .

Brandi Carlile is working with Soundgarden:

Good call on their part.  She's one of the few singers I can think of who absolutely goes for it in the upper registers like Cornell did.

Album out of Barry Gibb's work, with covers/duets by the likes of Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlille, Alison Krauss, and Dolly Parton:

Innocuous white funk-ish cover of McCartney's "Arrow" (but she sings the melody better than Paul did, he kinda outwrote his vocal skill on this one).  Her band is as dorky as it gets, but it's a solid cover of a terrific song:
