big xii has 7 of the top 17 and 8 of the top 21…and yet the sec is actually projected (ever so slightly) to be the tougher league top to bottom. playing in the sec is going to be similar to the big xii, just with fewer trips to iowa, oklahoma, and kansas. upgrayedd.

Not true. He waits until you've made enough post in Texas basketball game threads then he starts to crunch the numbers.

We'll see how you behave this season.

You know, I'm actually genuinely curious why you are the way you are. You consistently and very weirdly act like you have some sort of leverage or influence over how I post, despite that fact that the same exact interaction happens every time:

I'm going to post exactly how I always have, and you're inevitably going to act like a toddler about it, which will cause me to simply laugh at/mock you and continue posting. You'd think you would have learned by now, but I guess that's hoping for too much. I understand that your brain only has one speed and it forces you to be an ultra aggro meathead about everything, but man I really hope things get better for you soon.

Seems odd to use the past 5 years results when coaches and players are so different

Makes sense that they are basically meaningless until some real games get played

Yeah I am sure it's next to impossible to do accurately before the season starts, but his algorithm always seems to work out in the end.

  • 3 weeks later...

i remember when doing my research on RT’s coaching history that his teams historically really only had two things that identified them as being “rodney terry teams”:

1)they don’t defend the three (bad)

2)they don’t turn the ball over (good)

so far this team has really exemplified both of these traits:

5th in the country in TO%, 240th defending the three.

I expect (hope?) the 3-point defense metric to improve as the season progresses. As much lenf as Texas has on the perimeter, there's no excuse for it not to. Same for the steal rate.

Our 'Horns have all the makings of a great defensive team. Against the one opponent with a pulse, however, they weren't very good. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
